We are asking all our wonderful families to support Teddy and his family getting the number of signatures they need to take this to parliament!
This petition it’s a call to government to allow all limb difference children to access an x-ray to baseline their limb so their anatomy and bone structure is understood. It helps with many things but the main thing is if an accident occurs medical professionals understand if there is a fracture or issue that needs medical treatment, as without the baseline x-ray to reference some children will have broken bones etc that get missed causing pain and future issues.
Teddy's parents requested an X-ray of Teddy’s hand after he was born but were sadly told it wasn’t a service they could access as it isn’t offered which was so disappointing for them. They would be grateful for this to be changed to help people living with limb difference and future children born navigating their differences.
Please share this far and wide so we can support them getting as many signatures as possible! Thank you in advance from everyone at The Cottage Nursery & Teddy's family.
Limb different children have unusual anatomy. Without a baseline X-ray on NHS records, some A&E doctors can’t tell what is an injury & what is the norm for that child. We want every limb different child to have a baseline X-ray at diagnosis, stored and easily accessible
