The University of Manchester Sport is responsible for managing the University owned sports facilities and providing a wide range of opportunities for the University community to take part in sport and physical activity at all levels.

As part of the Sport operations team and in liaison with the Health and fitness coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day operation and supervision of Fitness Facilities, ensure the delivery of quality fitness services and programmes, and develop an appropriate Health and fitness offer to meet the needs of all customers.

You will be the first point of contact in relation to the Health and Fitness service and programmes. Responsibilities also include sports centre supervisor cover as and when required.

You will supervise the work of the Health and Fitness team (Fitness Instructors and class instructors.

Applicants should possess a Level 3 fitness qualification or related subject (or equivalent) with proven success & experience of working within a health and fitness environment with knowledge of group exercise class programming. Skills and experience must also include the ability to use software packages & leisure / member management systems.

You must have a flexible approach to work and have the motivation and drive to lead a team in the provision of excellent health & fitness service for students, staff and the wider community.

As our gym refurbishment is well under way, we want to let know our customers that we will be adding some brand new Matrix strength equipment onto our gym floor in the upcoming weeks! This equipment involves: functional rigs, plate loaded upper, lower body machines and resistance machines and many more!

Keep an eye out for our regular updates once the kit arrives soon!!

We are extending our fitness class timetable to include a variety of ZOOM classes available for FREE to all of our gold members!

For information, when you are booking online for the class, please note the ZOOM ID and password (if applicable) in order to be able to access that class. Those details will be available in the class description section on our online booking system.

GYM REFURBISHMENT UPDATES

From Wednesday 14th of July until further notice, the ground floor gym area will be closed for work to commence. Upstairs gym area and studio will remain open for members to access, and normal opening hours remain.

We apologies for any inconvenience cause whilst we update our fitness facilities. We look forward to welcoming you back to a much bigger, brighter, and new updated facilities!

Our summer fitness class timetable is now live!!

It includes over 30 classes per week, with a variety of instructor-led and Wexer virtual classes! We politely ask our all of our customers to book onto the classes in advance to guarantee your slot.

You can book your class slot via online booking, over the telephone or at the reception.
