At Paris 2024, made history as the first British climber to win an Olympic medal, taking gold in the combined Boulder and Lead event and putting British climbing firmly on the world stage. ⁠

Toby says 🗨️ “It definitely feels surreal to have received an MBE. Climbing has given me so much purpose and drive my whole life and it feels incredible to know that I have helped get people psyched about the sport. I can’t wait to continue to push myself further and keep enjoying it to its fullest.” ⁠

We are delighted to announce new roles within the Performance department at the British Mountaineering Council (BMC), made possible through the continuation of our Sport England funding.

This is an exciting time to join the Performance team as we develop and grow our talent pathway providing opportunities and experiences for the next generation of climbers ✨

The first phase of recruitment includes the following roles:
➡ 1 x full-time Lead Talent Coach
➡ 2 x part-time Talent Coaches

We will also be looking to recruit volunteer coaches to help support the athletes on the international competition circuit. We will be announcing the process shortly.

The British Mountaineering Council (BMC) has announced the athletes selected for the GB Paraclimbing Team for the 2025 season 💪

A total of 36 climbers have been chosen to represent Great Britain across nine classifications. The athletes will be divided into three squads: Podium, Progression, and Development, each reflecting different levels of experience and competition goals.
