Days off, rest and relaxation are all part of the process too.

I’ve been hammering it pretty hard recently. I love work but even I know when I’m taking on too much at once and have to remind myself to take a break.

You can’t pour from an empty cup boo. Take time for you, rest, relax and recover so that you can show up as the best version of yourself consistently.

I feel like for a lot of this year I’ve been at the start line, prepared, ready to go, waiting for the gun shot and then… the guy with the gun buggers off.

I constantly go through phases of feeling super motivated and pumped to deflated and disappointed due to the ever changing restrictions.

If you’re feeling the same, I’m with you. Your feelings are totally valid. Keep feeling the feels whilst making time to look after yourself and give your mind a break from problem solving and worrying.

We’ll get there, just one foot in front of the other for now babe 🤍✨

Healthier choices I’ve made recently that have changed the game:

1. Using an alarm clock instead of my phone alarm.

I literally used to wake up and check my phone before I’d even checked in with myself. Now I won’t touch my phone until I’ve done my morning ‘get ready’ ritual.

2. Cutting my alcohol consumption right down.

I love a bev don’t get me wrong! But due to personal circumstances, I was finding that alcohol was a bit of a trigger for anxiety. I’ve cut it right down and only drink a little now when socialising.

3. Reading books.

Recently I’ve finished ‘You Do You’ by , ‘Women Don’t Owe You Pretty by and currently reading ‘Working Hard, Hardly Working’ by .
I’m really enjoying the process and the fact I’m educating myself. I used to love reading when I was a kid and fell out of it. Not going to be making that mistake again!

4. Journaling.

I had no idea how powerful journaling was until one day I took an online yoga class with my girl . At the end of class she asked us to grab a journal and start with the sentence ‘I came to understand..’ and just write whatever comes up, don’t even think about it, just write. And my GOD did I write! One day I’ll share what I put down but right now that’s just for me.
Journaling is almost a form of therapy. It gets my thoughts out of my head and onto paper so I can unjumble them and understand them when they’re beating up my brain.

5. Getting outside
I’ll admit that I used to be a bit of a hermit. I’m a self-confessed workaholic and I used to spend sunny days inside on my laptop because I couldn’t bring myself away.
Now I will make the two work together or I will balance my schedule to make the most of the sunshine and get my work done. Vitamin D is ridiculously good for you and not to mention makes me so flippin’ happy!

If you’re in a bit of a funk recently, I strongly recommend trying a couple, if not all of these. I went through a massive life-shift recently and implementing these chances has made the process a lot more bearable!

Also - can you spot the dodgey tan/sun burn lines? 😬😂🔥
