I know how it is, your job is busy, stressful and demanding.

So sleep are you getting enough?

A lack of sleep gives you:

😴 decreased motivation to workout
😴 reduced muscle and energy recovery
😴 low productivity so when you are getting things done you just aren't getting it done efficiently
😴 increased anxieties and stress at work, at home and at the gym
😴 increased calorie intake because you need that energy to get you through the day and I bet you aren't motivated or bothered to pick the best choices.

My members know that I'm more than just some guy giving you workouts, I look at all aspects of your life to help you on your journey. I understand that life gets in the way, there's things going on at work, at home, with those around you and I'm hear to listen and help you.

People think coaches are some monsters that just care about workouts and salad but I don't want to be that and my members know this. There's more to your fitness journey than calories and lifting weights and thats why in our programs we offer more.

Most people think in order for a workout to be "effective" it has to..

- Send their heart rate up as high as possible.

- Make them sweat buckets.

- And get them so sore they can barely move for a week.

That is just a load of rubbish!

There's nothing wrong with workouts that make you sore, sweaty, and tired.

I do them often.

But you know what I do every day?

I walk.

I walk around my neighbourhood, I take the stairs instead of the elevator, I just walk.

And you know what the healthiest, longest living populations in the world do every day?

Walk.

No, it won't get you hench.

No, it won't make you shredded.

No, it won't sculpt your glutes.

And, no, it doesn't look impressive.

But it's without question the best thing you can do for your health and longevity during your short life.

I'm not completely saying it's bad to have weight loss goals.

For some they work really well.

I am saying, though, if you choose to have a weight loss goal…it's probably not the best idea to have it attached to a very specific, life or death, deadline.

And definitely not a recurring deadline month after month. It's just not sustainable.

For many reasons.

Not least of which being.

You can't control your weight.

Even if you're losing fat, your weight will randomly shift up, down, spin around, do the hockie pokie and all that.

Most people start their journey by making a monthly weight loss goal as a way
to stay motivated.

Which is cool and all…except for the fact that your motivation is being built from something you can't control.

And then the time comes when you don't hit your monthly weight loss goal…..will you say 'screw this' quit and smash a KFC family bucket by yourself?

(Obviously extra gravy)

If yes…think differently to making a monthly weight loss goal.

Instead, make a monthly consistency goal.

Because you can control your consistency.

It's objective, it's straight facts.

You either hit your calories 80% of the time or you didn't.

You either hit your protein intake 80% or the time or you didn't.

You either hit your workouts 80% of the time or you didn't.

Notice I said 80%?

We can't all be 'perfect' plus where's the fun in that.

Be consistent, be real with yourself but don't beat yourself up.

It’s well hot!

Your body can adapt to anything, I mean I used to lift tree for a living 😳

Hydration is key, not only cause it was hot but it aids recovery and keeps your brain engaged.

Sleep needs more hype, man I needed sleep to recover from these long physically demanding days.
