I'm thrilled that you have decided to something positive for yourself and your health. If you've struggled with your weight, and tried lots of fad diets, you're definitely not alone. Growing up I had an unhealthy relationship with food. I went through periods where I would follow rigid diets and times where I would comfort eat and live off convenience food. My battle with food had many negative co

nsequences, not only on my weight but my mental health and energy levels. I reached a point where I knew I needed to make some changes, and began working out with personal trainers and hired a nutritionist. The right nutrition and regular exercise quickly transformed my attitude towards food and my motivation towards life. Inspired by my own results I qualified as a Personal Trainer & studied Nutrition & Health Coaching, and launched Louise Nia Lifestyle Coach. My mission is to help other women improve their relationship with food, and eat in a way that supports their health and energy levels. As well as offering 1-1 health coaching support, I have set up a FREE online Facebook community for women The Lifestyle Lounge. I love showing women that they can recreate all their fast food's and sweet treats using wholefood ingredients- without having to spend hours in the kitchen, or a fortune on ingredients! https://www.facebook.com/groups/lifestyleloungeforwomen

What is your self-talk like?
Is it cruel or is it kind?

The toxic words written on this post are so cruel. I'm sure you would never dream of speaking to another human being in this way.

So why do you let your inner voice bully you in this way? Why are you so kind to other people but not to yourself?
And how can you stand up to it?

Your self-talk may be critical because of cruel comments from other people. Having really high expectations of yourself, and comparing yourself to others.

This kind of self-talk is really damaging. Making you feel ashamed, inadequate and guilty. (I know this it's something I used to struggle with a lot)

Changing your self-talk and being kind to yourself, will help you feel happier. It will also help you move closer to your goals.

Next time you look in the mirror and your inner critic starts to taunt you. Catch it out! And stand up to it" Take a look at yourself, and see your self through the eyes of a friend or family member you really love.

What kind words would you say to them if they asked you how they looked?

You would focus on the positive? Right?
"I love how that dress brings out the colour of your eyes"
"I love your hairstyle today"

Have you managed to tame your inner bully? Or is this something you struggle with?

There's no such things as failure only feedback!

Do you ever go way off track with you eating and feel like you've screwed things up completely?

Next time this happens I invite you to look at this "failure" through a new lens.

Pause for a few minutes, and ask yourself:
What can I do differently?
What changes do I need to make to stay on track?
What are the reasons I went off track?

Start to treat obstacles as learning experiences rather than "failure"
Feedback will help you move forward and make the changes needed to stay on track.
