Covid-19 (Coronavirus)
At the moment there are no plans to stop classes, they will only be halted should MSJ close the centre or the instructors are unable to attend. However, for the time being, focus will be placed on patterns and line work. Any interactive practice (set-sparring, sparring, self-defence and pad work) will not take place.
Choice on attendance is at the discretion of the individual or parent/guardian for younger members. It is fully understandable if you wish to stay away if you are in one of the vulnerable groups or you care for or live with someone in one of the vulnerable groups.
A vulnerable group includes those who
1. Are aged 70 or over
2. Have a pre-existing, long term (chronic) condition (eg asthma)
3. Are pregnant
4. Have a weakened immune system
Obviously, anyone who is ill should not attend, especially where symptoms include a temperature or a new, persistent cough. Students should only resume training at the least 7 days after symptoms have cleared.
For those attending
1. Please ensure you wash hands immediately before training
2. If you need to cough or sneeze, use a tissue (you can slot a packet into your belt or suit)
3. Put the used tissue in the bin and then wash your hands
4. Wash your hands after any toilet break
5. Wash your hands after training
This is all mostly common sense and personal hygiene.
Hopefully this means we can remain open for those wishing to train. However, advice and events may overtake us in which case this will be reviewed.
