βοΈ Exercising During the Heatwave βοΈ
With temperatures climbing and another hot spell upon us, I've had a few people wondering whether they should be exercising at all.
The good news is that all but one of my classes are held in air-conditioned venues, so there's a very good chance you'll be cooler during class than you are at home! βοΈπ
Of course, when temperatures are high, it's important to be sensible. I keep a close eye on everyone in class and will adapt exercises where needed. This isn't the time to push ourselves unnecessarily hard - it's about moving safely, keeping active and feeling good.
A few heatwave tips:
π§ Bring plenty of water and take regular sips throughout the class.
π Try to have a snack or meal beforehand rather than arriving on an empty stomach.
π Wear light, comfortable clothing.
π§ Bring a towel if it helps you stay comfortable.
π Listen to your body and take a breather whenever you need one.
Exercise can still be hugely beneficial during hot weather, especially when you're in a cool, air-conditioned environment and taking sensible precautions.
So if you've been thinking about skipping class because of the heat, please don't worry. The air conditioning is on, extra water breaks are encouraged, and classes will be adapted where needed.
Let's keep moving, stay sensible, and stay cool! πβοΈπͺπΌ
P.S. Monday evening Pilates is currently the only class without air conditioning, but adaptations will be made there too to help everyone stay as comfortable as possible. π
