🏉 Community Rugby 🏉

Over the past two evenings, we’ve had the pleasure of delivering coaching sessions and our “Finding Rugby” introductory programme to more than 80 girls from local Rainbows, Brownies, and Guides groups as part of our community outreach initiative.

The sessions were filled with smiles, laughter, new experiences, and plenty of sporting togetherness. It was fantastic to see so many young people getting involved and enjoying rugby in a fun and welcoming environment.

A huge thank you to all of our club volunteers who helped make the evenings such a success, including our newly promoted Sporting Leaders, who did a brilliant job bringing energy, enthusiasm, and joy to every session.

There’s plenty more to come!

Delighted to see Mawgan carrying on his journey into Professional rugby with Exeter.

Mawgz played junior rugby with us right up and until 16s when he decided to leave Yorkshire and head to college in Devon.

It has certainly paid off, as he was named captain for the Chiefs Academy last season. Our third former player to represent the Chiefs in recent years, Will he continue his journey and be our first English senior male international player? No pressure 🔴

We are delighted to announce that, for the first time in the club's history, we have selected two local charities to support and fundraise for throughout the 2026–27 season.

Both charities carry out fantastic work within our local community, and their causes are very close to the hearts of everyone involved at the football club.

Andys Man Club Malton & Norton are a men’s su***de prevention charity, offering free to attend peer-to-peer support groups across the United Kingdom and online. AMC want to end the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and help men through the power of conversation. . AMC have a weekly support group based in Norton.

York Against Cancer is a local charity helping people in York, North and East Yorkshire affected by cancer. They provide a range of support services for cancer patients and their loved ones. Along with a Mobile Chemotherapy Unit at Malton & Norton Rugby Union Football Club each week, YAC also have free respite breaks in Filey and Yapham for cancer patients and their loved ones.

We look forward to working alongside them and helping to make a positive difference both on and off the pitch.

Our strong player development over the past five seasons has held us in decent shape, but due to a couple of retirements, relocations and the new demands of having a competitive Super Twos in the league our senior men are ready to welcome you to join the fun….

The Marvels are continuing to grow and their strength in depth is something that needs to be built back up this season.

17+ Men and Women welcome, any under 18 year old would be expected to play initially at Colts or U18Girls before earning playing up.

Re-Shuffle💫

Everyone has just been sent the Final adjustments to the new league structure, the super twos are still set to compete in Counties 2 A, but some of our opponents have been revised….

Lummer and Chris can’t wait to get stuck into teams we’ve not played in years at first XV let alone as a second XV. A Good and necessary step forward for rugby in Ryedale.

AGM Round Up......

A huge thank you to everyone who attended last night’s AGM and helped shape the future of Malton & Norton RUFC. 🏉

Over 70 members joined us as we reflected on a year of growth and unveiled an exciting new five-year plan focused on creating a more modern, sustainable and community-driven club structure.

Key updates included:
✅ Current Golden Officer roles retained
✅ Richard Jones appointed Strategic Development Lead
✅ Four new leadership roles to be introduced
✅ New captains and coaching teams announced across the club
✅ Roger Smith welcomed as incoming Club President

The priority now is recruiting volunteer Team Leaders to help drive the club forward as we continue building the best possible environment for players, members and supporters.
