Brooklyn ladies had their 6th away game against Redcar town ladies athletic who are currently top of the league.

Going into a knowingly tough game and with a weakened team is never a good start, but never the less Brooklyn kept Redcar at bay for a good 30 minutes before they got their first goal, along came another two and Brooklyn where down 3-0 at half time.

Going into the second half Redcar town put another three goals into the net, making the game a 6-0 finish to Redcar town.

However, Brooklyn are improving game on game with the last game played against Redcar town was a 10-1 defeat.

Our next game and last game of the season is away at Thornaby ladies, kick off to be confirmed.

Brooklyn ladies hosted their 10th and their last home game of this season against local rivals Huntington Rovers.

After the weather of our last home game, playing today with like a dream, no wind or rain just sunshine. Brooklyn where off to a good start making runs and pushing forward and our back centre half Sam keeping a good line and talking to the other girls. When Brooklyn players where getting into good positions and good shots on target nothing was going our way until a corner from Emma and a little fumble with Leila saw Brooklyn go 1-0 up into half time.

Coming into the second half, sun still shining, Brooklyn where on the front all the time pushing for that second goal, which came with a great cross from Nadine and hitting the back of the net. Towards the end of the game, we saw Leila take the ball, it hit the post and it went in. Making Brooklyn go 3-0 up.

However, with only 8 mins to go, a questionable off side, and our goalie down, Huntington managed to squeeze 2 goals from us, ending the game 3-2 to Brooklyn ladies.

Great game from both sides and some great
Football been played. Huntington kept Brooklyn on their toes at points in the game, but Brooklyn were the better side out there today.

Brooklyn ladies hosted their 9th home game of the season against Richmond town.

After been on the 3G pitch for the first time this year, plus the wind and the rain, Brooklyn went 2-0 down with in the first 5 minutes. Brooklyn battled back to get a 2-1 before half time.

Going into the second half, Brooklyn kept going and dominated majority of the second half. A fluke goal from Richmond made it to a 3-1 with 20 minutes to go. After a great strike from our forward, and a last minute goal from Richmond, the game ended 4-2 to Richmond.

Unlucky for Brooklyn today as neither team deserved to lose, it was a great game to watch and it was a shame about not getting a point from the game.

Brooklyn ladies hosted their 8th home game of the season against top of the league Redcar town reserves, who have not lost a game all season.

After a great 30 minute start, with no goals from either team, Redcar town started adding to their score sheet. Going into half time 4-0.

Coming into the second half, with the wind and the rain, Brooklyn still battled. Despite Brooklyn having a young team playing, compared to a semi pro standard, the manager Paul was pleased with how far Brooklyn have come, compared to the beginning of the season. The game ended in a 8-1 finish to Redcar town reserves.

A team who has been going for many years and pushing for a promotion. We also have to be proud of the fact we scored against the team, when many other teams this year have not. This is showing the standard we are becoming.

Brooklyn ladies had their 5th away game of the season against an established Redcar athletic ladies.

After going 1-0 down in half time which Brooklyn didn’t deserve, Brooklyn battled to get a goal back making it 1-1. With Redcar getting another goal from our mistake, we soon made it back to a 2-2 position with 10 minutes left. Redcar went on to have a late goal, sealing the fate of the game.

Great game from both side of the pitch. Plenty of support from both home and away. It was a shame Brooklyn didn’t come back with a point.
However; that’s football.

Thankyou to the host, who put food on for the ladies after, giving a great team vibe for players to get to know one another.

Great feedback from their manger, who said we deserved something out of the game, and we have improved even from when we played them 2 weeks ago, means a lot to the manger Paul and is showing his hard work is paying off.

Brooklyn ladies hosted their 7th home game of the season against 2nd position in the league Poppleton ladies.

An unfortunate early goal from the away team which put them in front from the off, Brooklyn kept battling the whole way through the game.

A few spectacular goals for the away team, and after Brooklyn where pressing hard, we went into half time at 4-1.

Returning to the second half, we had great chances, and some near misses. Ending the game 7-3 to the away team. Both teams played exceptionally well and with great sportsmanship showed from both teams, which is great to see in women’s football.

Brooklyn ladies hosted their 6th home game today against Redcar athletic ladies in the first round of the Northern Riding FA Cup.

Within the first minute of the game, Our step in goalie did a great tackle which unfortunately lead to a penalty, with Redcar going 1-0 up.
Shortly after the goal and with minutes ticking away, Brooklyn managed to get a goal back making it 1-1. Another 2 goals came from the away team taking it to 3-1 at half time.

While the girls fought back to try and close the gap, the away team managed to hit the cross bar, which bounced back and hit the Brooklyn ladies player making it a own goal. However Brooklyn managed to get another great goal back which ended the game 4-2 win for Redcar athletic.

An unfortunate result which doesn’t reflect the game play. We have come on leaps and bounds compared to the last time we played them (Lost 6-0). The girls should be proud of the game they played today. The opposition manager even commented how well we have improved since the last game.

Brooklyn ladies hosted their 5th and final home game of the year against Brompton Ladies.

After Joely Cook hitting the bar twice within 10 minutes, Brooklyn managed to go 1-0 up. Following swiftly with an equaliser from Brompton making the score 1-1 going into half time.

After half time, the girls got stuck back In, with not one clean kit insight. With Joely hitting the bar once more and Leila narrowly missing, Brooklyn managed to get another goal before the final whistle making the final score 2-1.

Great game from start to finish despite the weather and pitch conditions.

Following on from our last game, we also had a group blowout in our local pub before we break up for Christmas 🎅🏼

Brooklyn ladies had their 4th away game of the season, hosted by Brompton ladies.

After going 1-0 down and Kristen keeping us in the game by saving a penalty, we managed to get one back coming to 1-1 at half time. After half time, once the rain and wind set in, Brooklyn went behind with an unlucky goal making it 2-1. However, we fought back and gained 2 great goals on target within 10 minutes. Making it 3-2 to Brooklyn. With another fluke goal from the hosts within the last 10 minutes, making the final scores 3-3.

Great game by all the girls involved. The movement, the passing and the fitness is coming on leaps and bounds. Also, a big well done to Maddie for stepping up to be a keeper in the second half of her very first match.

Brooklyn play their next match on Sunday 28th November, away to Aklam ladies 2pm kick off.

Brooklyn ladies hosted their fourth home game of the season to Thornaby FC Ladies.

Brooklyn had another unfortunate defeat to a well established side. However, with the game not going our way, the girls never gave up and battled to the end.

As always, the girls put a 100% effort into the game. The new manager (Paul Jennison) was over the moon with players attitude. Big thankyou to the girls that came and helped us out today.

Also, a big well done to Nadine Woodhead, who stepped up when our goalie got injured.

We will be back, bigger and better!

With that been said, Nadine got the women of the match for the 2nd week in a row. 🏆

Our next match is away to Redcar Athletics Reserves on 31st October. 2pm kick off.

**Important Update**

As we come into the winter months, we have decided to move our ladies training to a Thursday evening. This will come into effect as of Thursday (21st October).

This will take place at Norton College in the indoor gym. The training/ 5 a side will be on from 6:30pm - 7:30pm. Please remember to bring trainers.

Anyone wishing to come to training with potential to play in the league please feel free to come down and join in!

Our next match is on Sunday 24th October at home to Thornaby ladies, 2pm kick off.
