🏉 THE NEW RUGBY SEASON IS ALMOST HERE! 🏉

We’re delighted to be getting ready to welcome everyone back to Minety RFC for the start of the 2026/27 season!

Our Minis season kicks off at home on Sunday 6th September, with training running at our usual time of 10:00am–11:00am.

Whether you’re a returning player or thinking about trying rugby for the very first time, we’d love to see you. New players are very welcome across all of our age groups, so if your child is interested in getting involved, please get in touch.

🌟 Especially calling our new U6s!
If you have a young player who would like to give rugby a go, they’re very welcome to come along on 6th September for a FREE taster session. No pressure, no commitment, just come along, meet the coaches, make some new friends and join in the fun!

At Minety, our focus is on helping children enjoy rugby in a safe, friendly and supportive environment, building confidence, skills, teamwork and friendships along the way.

🏉 Touch Rugby at Minety RFC 🏉

A reminder that our touch rugby sessions are running every Thursday evening from 6:00pm to 7:15pm at Minety.

It would be brilliant to see plenty of familiar faces back out on the field, and it’s also a great opportunity to bring a friend along and introduce them to the club.

These sessions are relaxed, friendly and open to all abilities. A great way to stay active, have some fun and help us keep building the club over the summer.

Hope to see as many of you there as possible!

☀️ Thursday Touch Rugby Cancelled ☀️

Due to the very hot weather forecast, we’ve made the decision to cancel tomorrow’s Thursday touch rugby session.

Not ideal, but player safety comes first, and running around in this heat probably isn’t the best idea!

Enjoy the evening off, keep cool, and we’ll see everyone again soon. 🏉

🚴‍♂️ Challenge Complete – What an Achievement! 🚴‍♂️

We are absolutely delighted to share the final results from Fred's incredible solo effort at the Crudwell "Le Mans" 24-Hour Bike Ride.

🏅 31 laps completed
🚴 217 miles ridden
💷 £1,031 raised so far (with donations still open until mid-July)
🏆 Winner of the Sportsmanship Award

Taking on a 24-hour endurance challenge is impressive enough. Doing it alone, in the absence of his usual teammates, takes a special kind of determination, resilience and character.

Fred not only completed the challenge, but did so in a way that earned the admiration of fellow riders, organisers and supporters, culminating in him being awarded the event's Sportsmanship Award.

Everyone at Minety RFC is incredibly proud of what Fred has achieved. He has been a fantastic ambassador for both the club and his chosen charity, Rugby for Heroes, demonstrating the values of commitment, courage, teamwork and respect that rugby teaches us.

Congratulations, Fred. An outstanding achievement and one that should be celebrated by the entire Minety RFC family. 🏉💙

🚴‍♂️ Fred’s Solo 24-Hour Challenge Update 🚴‍♂️

What an incredible effort from one of our own!

Fred, from our Minety RFC U18s, has now completed 18 laps of the Crudwell "Le Mans" 24-Hour Bike Ride and has already clocked up an astonishing 121 miles. 💪

After pushing through the day and into the evening, he's taking a well-earned break for some food and rest before getting back out there to continue his challenge.

Fred is riding solo this year to keep alive a tradition that has seen Minety U18 players take part in this fantastic event for many years. Not only is he tackling the full 24-hour challenge on his own, but he is also raising money for Rugby for Heroes.

His determination, resilience and commitment are a brilliant reflection of everything we value at Minety RFC.

Looking for a fun, friendly and active way for children to try something new this summer?

Minety RFC are running FREE Touch Rugby sessions for boys and girls aged 6–12.

📅 Thursdays, May–August
⏰ 6:00–7:15pm
📍 Minety Playing Fields, SN16 9QH

No kit or prior rugby experience needed — just come along and have a go at some non-contact rugby in a welcoming environment.

The clubhouse will also be open for parents, carers and supporters.

It was brilliant to see the team getting involved in such a fantastic local tradition, showing great spirit, determination and plenty of smiles along the way.

🏉 Touch Rugby starts tonight! 🏉

Our first Summer Touch Rugby session kicks off today at 6:00pm at Minety Playing Fields.

This is a fun, non-contact rugby session, open to children aged 6–12, and a great way to get active, build confidence, make friends, and enjoy rugby in a relaxed environment.

Everyone is welcome, whether your child already plays rugby or is completely new to the game.
