🏉 FREE Touch Rugby for Kids at Minety RFC! 🏉

Looking for a fun, friendly and active way for children to try something new this summer?

Minety RFC are running FREE Touch Rugby sessions for boys and girls aged 6–12.

📅 Thursdays, May–August
⏰ 6:00–7:15pm
📍 Minety Playing Fields, SN16 9QH

No kit or prior rugby experience needed — just come along and have a go at some non-contact rugby in a welcoming environment.

The clubhouse will also be open for parents, carers and supporters.

A huge well done to our MC Harlequins who took part in the Tetbury Woolsack Races this weekend!

It was brilliant to see the team getting involved in such a fantastic local tradition, showing great spirit, determination and plenty of smiles along the way.

A tough challenge, a great atmosphere, and a brilliant way to represent the club in the community.

🏉 Touch Rugby starts tonight! 🏉

Our first Summer Touch Rugby session kicks off today at 6:00pm at Minety Playing Fields.

This is a fun, non-contact rugby session, open to children aged 6–12, and a great way to get active, build confidence, make friends, and enjoy rugby in a relaxed environment.

Everyone is welcome, whether your child already plays rugby or is completely new to the game.

🚴‍♂️ Fred’s Solo 24-Hour Challenge 🚴‍♂️

We are incredibly proud to share that Fred, one of our Minety RFC U18 players, is taking on the Crudwell “Le Mans” 24 Hour Bike Ride this year.

For the past few years, a tight-knit squad of enthusiastic U18 rugby players has taken part in this brilliant community fundraising event, bringing plenty of grit, laughs and competitive spirit along the way.

This year, with the rest of the squad tied up with important exam commitments, Fred has decided to keep the team’s legacy alive by entering solo and taking on the full 24-hour challenge himself.

The event raises funds for improvements to Crudwell Village Hall and its surroundings, with 80% of the funds raised by each team going to a charity of their choice. Fred has chosen to support Rugby for Heroes.

Fred’s determination, team spirit and commitment are a fantastic reflection of the values we love to see at Minety RFC. The bond between these players is something really special, one for all and all for one.

A brilliant evening at Minety Rugby Club with 1st Sherston Brownies.

It was fantastic to welcome the group along for a rugby taster session, and even better to see the girls grow in confidence, get fully involved, and leave with big smiles on their faces.

A huge thank you to Helen for bringing the group along, to the parents for supporting it, and to our coaches and helpers for making the session such a success.

We hope to see some of you again at our touch rugby sessions starting on Thursday 21 May.

Summer Touch Rugby is back at Minety RFC 🏉

Free, fun, non-contact rugby sessions for boys and girls aged 6–12, running every Thursday from May to August.

No previous rugby experience needed, just come along, have fun, and give it a go.

A brilliant day out for our Minis at the Bradford on Avon Rugby Festival this weekend.

A huge well done to all of our players, who represented Minety RFC superbly across the age groups. There was some fantastic rugby on show, plenty of smiles, great teamwork, and loads of determination from start to finish.

A big thank you to Bradford-On-Avon Rugby Club for hosting such a well-organised and enjoyable festival, and thank you as always to our coaches, parents, and volunteers for all their support on the day.

Although the Quins hadn’t played for a few weeks, they started quickly against Trowbridge Colts, going 14 points up in the first 10 minutes. However Trowbridge fought back and led 19-14 at half time. Both sides played some excellent rugby throughout the game, with both sets of forwards fighting for every ball, with their backs creative lines and passing being met by stiff defensive lines throughout the game. However it was the resolute defence by the Quins with some excellent off loading leading them to win the game 26-33. The squad would like to thank their supporters who made the trip and provided some excellent vocal encouragement from the side lines! The Quins have their final 15 a-side match against Minchinhampton kicking off at 1100 on the 26 April at Minety. It would be great to get some strong home support! What a brilliant way to round off the season at our end of season party today.

It was fantastic to see so many players, parents, coaches and supporters together, enjoying the afternoon and celebrating everything that has made this season so special. From the rugby itself to the friendships, teamwork and support shown across the club, it was a lovely reminder of what Minety is all about.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, to those who brought food, and to everyone who helped prepare, organise and keep everything running smoothly. Events like this only happen because of the time, effort and generosity of so many people, and it is very much appreciated.

Thank you for a fantastic season. We are incredibly proud of all our young players and very grateful for the support of our wider club community. Enjoy the summer and we look forward to seeing you all again soon.

At Minety RFC Youth, the safety and wellbeing of our players always comes first.

Our coaches recently completed the RFU-required first aid course, ensuring they have the knowledge and confidence to respond when it matters most.

We are very grateful to all of our volunteers for giving up their time, and to those who delivered such an informative and valuable course.
