Maldon Netball Club Maldon Netball Club is a thriving and competitive sports club for over 18s. We have 3 teams playing in the Chelmsford District League in Div 6 and 11.

We train at Maldon Promenade Park every Monday 7-9pm come rain or shine (usually!)

We all know about the amazing Maldon & Tiptree FC but did you know Maldon is also home to a thriving and successful netball club? 🏐 A big appreciation for our sponsors Courtyard Clinic and Essex Podiatry Clinics .

This season, with just one game to go, Maldon Netball Club has three fantastic teams competing:

💙 Maldon Sapphires are currently topping their table in Div 6 and are set for promotion in the Chelmsford & District Netball League - losing just one game all season!
💎 Maldon Diamonds will finish 3rd in Division 6, rounding off a brilliant season.
🌟Maldon Pearls are finishing mid table and are on the up!

We’re a friendly and dedicated group of women aged 18 to 70 who love representing Maldon week in, week out- whatever the weather! ☀️🌧️ Our games are rarely cancelled!

Great results all round this week! ⭐️

Maldon Diamonds secured a fantastic 36–27 win over Chelmer Wanderers. Huge congratulations to Sophie and Kris for POM, and Sophie for also taking Diamond Player 👏

Maldon Sapphires also had a brilliant performance, beating Phoenix Fire 46–19 💙
Strong play up and down the court, and great to see the team confidently try out our new SET which paid off with Tilly’s intercept!
Well done to Sarah for POM and captain Em for Diamond Player 👏

The social media manager has been a bit slack… so we’ve got two weeks of netball catch-up to share! 🙈🏐

Maldon Pearls

The Pearls have had a couple of trickier games recently, with a few end-of-season injuries creeping in. The team spirit is still strong though, with everyone supporting from the sidelines. 💪

Maldon Pearls v Ultra Violets ended in a 26–26 draw – a great battle and a well-earned result for the team.
⭐ Player of the Match: Holly
💎 Diamond Player: Ann

Next up was Maldon Pearls v Phoenix Flare on a very windy night. It wasn’t the result the team hoped for to finish the season, but the Pearls are definitely the winning team when it comes to fun and team spirit. It’s been fantastic to see the confidence and improvement across our Pearlie Queens this season!

The Diamonds have also faced a couple of tough matches.

First up was Maldon Diamonds v Chelmsford Falcons, ending in a 27–32 loss. One of those games where you just say it wasn’t our night and move on to the next one.

This week’s match was Maldon Diamonds v Black Magic Diamonds – always a great battle and strong match-up. This time Black Magic Diamonds came away with the win, with the final score 38–27.

Maldon Sapphires

The Sapphires have just the one match to report this week – and it’s a good one! With the top of the table so close, every remaining game is a must-win.

On another windy night, the Sapphires took on Chelmer Wanderers and delivered a fantastic 35–16 win. A brilliant team performance with everyone playing their part across the court.

⭐ Player of the Match: Lily – who didn’t let the wind stop her flying around the court and linking up brilliantly with Sarah.

Another brilliant week for Maldon Netball Club playing in what felt like Mediterranean temperatures at last! 💙

Starting with Pearls, who kept their incredible winning streak alive. They faced Phoenix Reborn and edged a nail-biting 23–24 victory. The winning goal came in the very last seconds from Sophie, who had only just taken to the court after Ann unfortunately took a tumble. A fantastic team performance all round, with POM awarded to Sazza (and plenty of chat about that amazing lean 👀). The support crew were in full voice as always, and Hollie apparently was a little firecracker - very technical netball terminology there!

Sapphires played Fuhrs Blue, securing an impressive 46–14 win. Another outstanding team effort keeps them firmly at the top of Division 6. POM this week goes to our intercept queen, Tilly 👑

Diamonds unfortunately had their game cancelled this week… but we’ll happily take the win! 💎

🏐 Maldon Netball Club Roundup 🏐

A cracking week of netball with a hat trick of wins for all three teams! 💪

Maldon Sapphires got the ball rolling with a great win against Black Magic Diamonds. A particularly strong 3rd and 4th quarter saw them finish 35–22. Huge congrats to **Sarah** for Player of the Match with some fabulous shooting, and to **Tilly** for Diamond thanks to those signature interceptions! ⭐

Next up, Maldon Pearls continued their winning streak with a 25–21 victory over GT Dunmow Griffins. The team played brilliantly and looked just like they do in training. Well done to **Steph** for taking home both Diamond and POM! 🌟

Last but not least, Diamonds secured a fantastic 36–20 win against Phoenix Fire. It was a close contest the last time they met, but this time Diamonds took the win. Special shoutout to **Vicky** for a brilliant defensive game and earning both POM and Diamond! ✨

This weeks Maldon Netball Club update 🌟

Maldon Pearls kicked off the week against Firecrest and secured a well-deserved 26–18 win after an impressive comeback from 4 goals down in the first quarter. Some brilliant passages of play throughout! Player of the Match went to Steph, who kept the energy up possibly thanks to jelly babies! Congrats to Fran for Diamond 💎

It was also Maldon Derby week - always a competitive one with Diamonds vs Sapphires. A tightly contested game with fantastic support and entertaining commentary from the Pearls media team, plus special guest “Clare Balding” (aka Steph!). Ann added some great insights too. This time the Sapphires edged it 36–33. Congrats to POMs Gemma and Iona, and a special shoutout to Iona for earning both Diamond and POM! 👏

Another week of netball done and dusted – and I think we’re all counting down the days until lighter, drier evenings return ☀️

A slightly late roundup from last week first: Maldon Sapphires’ cup run came to an end after a tough quarter-final against Brookshaw Jade. They were a young, energetic and impressive side who we wouldn’t be surprised to see go on and become finalists. We’re incredibly proud of the Sapphires for reaching the quarter-finals. It was also a tough debut for Jess in her first game as a Sapphire. A club record was set with three players on warnings – maybe not one for the history books! Unfortunately, the score escapes us this time.

This week, Maldon Sapphires bounced back in style against Pumas Black, returning to winning ways with a convincing 36–19 victory. It was a lovely game where everything seemed to click, and areas that didn’t quite work last week showed real improvement. Congratulations again to Sarah for POM. Even better news – no warnings this week and very few contact penalties (no names mentioned!).

Pearls faced a challenging match against Ferrers Falcons, finishing with a 25–17 loss. Despite the result, the team gave it their all and should stay positive - their strong performances at training show exactly what they’re capable of. Well done to Sazza for taking POM.

Finally, a fantastic turnout at training this week, with record numbers across both Pearls and Diamonds. Brilliant commitment from everyone - well done all 👏

Pearls kicked things off on **6th Jan vs Generations**.
Huge shout-out to **Sazza (POM)** and **Steph (Diamond)** 💎
The team braved some seriously wintry weather and faced a young, energetic side - one of the few games that actually went ahead! It was a loss, but the girls fought right to the final whistle and played their hearts out. Great first match back, Pearls 👏

**Diamonds vs Wolves Black**
A tough and frustrating game in their first match back since November. A loss by just 6 (**38–32**) after clawing their way back with some brilliant netball.
Well done to **Sophie (POM)** and **Kris (Diamond player)** 💎

What a way to start January! **49–7 win** 🤩
An absolute blinder, as Lyndsey would say. Incredible defence across the whole court – not just the circle players – with interceptions, loose ball pickups, slick feeds and great shooting all round.

🎄✨ **🎅🏻 Maldon Netball Club – Festive Half-Season Round-Up! 🎅🏻** ✨🎄

What a *cracker* of a first half to the season! From weather battles to league-topping triumphs, Maldon Netball Club has shown resilience, sparkle and plenty of festive spirit. Here’s how we wrapped up 2025…

# # # 💎 **Sapphires - Shining Bright at the Top of Division 6!**

Our brilliant **Maldon Sapphires** stormed into Christmas **in 1st place**, securing **7 wins out of 8**. Perhaps best not to mention the 1 loss! Some very tricky games, but a superb start to the year.

# # # 🔹 **Diamonds – Glittering in 3rd Place!**

The **Maldon Diamonds** matched that winning record with **7 out of 8 victories**, finishing a very impressive **3rd** in division 6. A strong team effort all round with lots of juggling from super captain Kris!

# # # ⚪ **Pearls - A Sparkly Late Surge!**

The **Maldon Pearls** treated us to a last-minute flurry of form, climbing up to **6th place** after a run of well-earned wins. Proof that perseverance pays off! Debbie has done a superb job throughout documenting their rise on weekly vlogs!

# # # 🌧️💨 **Battling the Elements!**

It wouldn’t be a Maldon Monday without **torrential rain or gale-force winds** and the teams have handled every soggy bib, slippery ball and sideways gust with absolute determination.

This season hasn’t been without its challenges, but players have stepped up, played up, filled in and supported when needed.
