(1)

A swim school running small group lessons from a private pool in Rayne (near Braintree) on a Mon, Weds and Fri daytime, Moulsham High School Pool in Chelmsford (11.15am-12.15pm) on a Saturday and Wentworth Primary School Pool in Maldon (1pm-6pm) on a Saturday. Classes available:
Parent and child (0-2 years)
Pre-school (3-4 years)
Swim England Stages 1-7, following the Swim England Learn To Swim P

athway. We passionately believe that children will achieve their potential only if they are given the time and attention to hone their skills. We teach in the water wherever it is needed, as we understand that all children are different and a standardised approach will not produce the progression or quality of skills that we are aiming for. We are approachable and happy to provide feedback on your child or work on certain skills that you may feel are particularly important to you.

This weekend is set to bring warmer weather and sunshine to much of the UK. As temperatures rise and people head outdoors, it's vital to stay aware of water safety risks.

Understand the risks
• Warm weather does not mean warm water
• Open water remains dangerously cold
• Cold water shock happens in seconds - take it seriously
• It can cause an uncontrollable gasp and loss of breathing control

Know your limits
• Even confident swimmers can quickly lose strength and control
• It can become difficult to move or stay afloat
• Panic can make the situation worse
• Things can go wrong very quickly in open water

Take 5 minutes to brush up on your Water Safety Code before you head out this weekend. Download the Water Safety Code at www.rlss.org.uk/water-safety-code

We are back at The Oak Rooms today and looking forward to seeing you all! Please remember your happy nappies, to drive slowly on site and to park correctly (on the hour near the pool house and half past the hour in front of the conifers).

Cold water shock can affect anyone - even strong swimmers, even on hot days.

• Warm weather doesn't mean warm water - open water stays dangerously cold.
• Cold water shock causes an involuntary gasp and loss of breathing control within seconds - even for strong swimmers.
• Even confident swimmers can quickly lose strength, control, and coordination. Panic makes it worse.

It doesn't take long for things to go wrong in open water - even for strong swimmers.
