£6 per class. A mix of the graceful steps of Ballroom and the up tempo steps of the Latin dances to create a really fun, energetic and effective way to stay fit and keep trim that would appeal to everyone, even if they couldn’t dance. A dance fitness programme that is ‘so much fun you don’t even realise you’re getting fit!’

And FitSteps® is unique. It is the first time that classic Latin and Ballroom dances have been brought together with proven fitness techniques and principles to create not only a programme that can have extraordinarily wide appeal, but one that also has the potential to make a real and lasting impact on the health of the nation. The important point to note is the distinction between the plethora of dance classes that exist and FitSteps®. FitSteps® is a fitness class, delivered through dance. So, our emphasis is on helping people towards fitness; structuring the classes to deliver real, measurable, fitness results. The dances are broken down into easily learnable sections and each section is capable of being delivered at varying levels of effort, accommodating people of varying levels of fitness. They appeal to all age ranges and classes can be run for mixed age groups with ease. We’re proud to say that we have had people from the age of 9 to 74 participating, all of whom loved the experience.

National Fitness Day

This year’s tagline, “Powered by You,” highlights that everyone has a role to play and opportunity to be active, from individuals and communities to businesses, schools and hospitals.

National Fitness Day isn’t just about one day of activity; it’s about taking small, sustainable steps towards a healthier, stronger future.

"I'm too old to start dancing… aren't I?"

Absolutely not.

There's no age by which you were supposed to have learnt to dance.

You don't need to have started as a child.
You don't need years of experience.
And you certainly don't need to move like you did 20 years ago.

You just start from where you are now.

For some people, dancing is about learning a skill they've always wanted to try. For others, it's about moving more, meeting people, enjoying the music or simply doing something that's just for them.

Whatever brings you through the door, you're allowed to be a beginner at any age.

And you might just wonder why you didn't start sooner.

A little Samba in progress…

Here's a glimpse of our intermediate dancers working on their Samba.

At this level, it's not just about knowing the steps. We're exploring the rhythm, timing, technique and character that make each dance feel different.

There's always something new to learn, refine or discover – however long you've been dancing.

And that's part of what keeps dancing so interesting!

Ready to get moving again after the summer?

September has that lovely feeling of getting back into a routine, and FitSteps is a great way to add some movement, music and fun to your week.

We hope you're enjoying a chance to slow down, spend time with the people you love, and do something that makes you smile.

For us, one of the best ways to unwind is to dance.

Not because every step is perfect, but because for a little while you stop thinking about everything else.

The music takes over.
You move.
You laugh.
You simply enjoy the moment.

Whether you're dancing in your kitchen, out in the garden, or looking forward to your next class, we hope today brings you a little time to relax, recharge, and have some fun.

"We want a first dance that doesn't look awkward."

We hear this from so many couples.

The good news?

A beautiful first dance isn't about complicated choreography or perfect technique.

It's about feeling comfortable with each other.

When you're relaxed and confident, your dance looks natural, because you're not worrying about the next step, you're simply enjoying the moment together.

That's exactly what we work towards in our lessons.

We'll teach at your pace, create a routine that suits you, and help you walk onto the dance floor feeling excited rather than nervous.

Because the best first dances don't look rehearsed.

They look like two people celebrating the start of their next chapter together.

Sometimes, five minutes is all it takes.

A recent BBC Future article explored how even a short dance break can lift your mood, improve concentration, and spark creativity.

We're not surprised.

There's something powerful about putting on your favourite song and simply moving.

You don't have to get the steps right.
You don't have to dance for an hour.

Just moving to music can help you reset, recharge, and reconnect with yourself.

Now imagine what happens when you do that every week, surrounded by friendly faces, great music, and plenty of laughter.

Maybe that's one of the reasons so many people leave our classes smiling.
