🎉 Come and join the Festival of Colours and celebrate Holi next Saturday (19 March) at the Collis Green Park (ME15 7SW). Starting at 12:30pm, there will be loads of fun with music, foods and colours to purchase. 🌈

✨ This is a free family event and all funds raised from a raffle and boot sales on the day will go towards the Collis Green Trust.

🎉 Holi is a popular ancient Hindu festival, also known as the "Festival of Love", the "Festival of Colours" and the "Festival of Spring". It also signifies the triumph of good over evil is celebrated predominantly in the Indian, Nepal, Sri – Lank and Myanmar and also other regions of Asia and parts of the Western world through the Hindu diaspora.

✨ Holi celebrates the arrival of spring, the end of winter, the blossoming of love and for many, it is a festive day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and repair broken relationships. The festival also celebrates the beginning of a good spring harvest season. It lasts for a night and a day, starting on the evening of the Purnima (Full Moon Day) falling in the Hindu calendar month of Phalguna, which falls around the middle of March.

🎉 Collis Millennium Green Trust started celebrating the festival in 2019 in order to bring communities and groups together to celebrate the cohesion in Maidstone. Due to Covid-19, the festival has not been able to take place, but Holi celebrations will be returning this year.
