Happy new year everyone, training is back on as normal this week 🥋

As of next week, we will be holding a trial period for friends and family to come and try our classes for FREE which will last till the end of the month.

If you have anyone that might be interested in our kids/adults classes please feel free to bring them down. Your welcome to tag people in this post, im happy to provide any information if needed 😊

Start of a new year can be slow as we can still be in christmas mode. Main thing is we have to find motivation from somewhere as we all have resolutions that we make but most fail to achieve due to a lack of motivation. The best place to get that is from people who have it already, friends/family, sometimes taking a leap of faith into something new can be the best thing you ever do. Just keep reminding yourself why you want to do that thing, and start as soon as you can! Before you know it, when we use the excuse 'will start next week' continues onto the next week after that and the next until one day you realise months have past and your no closer to anything than you you wanted to be. Surround yourself with good like minded people to motivate, inspire and challenge you and you will achieve the things you want 😉

The old masters said: “Karate is kata and kata is Karate”. 👊 So what exactly is the purpose of kata? 🤔 Contrary to popular belief, kata was never meant to teach you anything. Rather, it was a solo reenactment of the defensive themes you should ALREADY have learned with a partner (‘mnemonic’ tool). 💡 Unfortunately, this knowledge was lost in the sands of time... ⏳ What remains is a collection of highly abstract movement patterns resembling high-intensity calisthenics rather than the pragmatic fighting art it was originally meant to represent. 💪 As the saying goes - we’ve put the cart before the horse! 😂
