We’re delighted to share our partnership with Thatchers Cider here at Bird Hills Golf Centre, and we’re incredibly proud to have the Thatchers name displayed on our 1st tee.
For us, this partnership is about far more than simply having a fantastic cider behind the bar.
Thatchers is a fourth-generation family business, with cider being made at Myrtle Farm in Somerset since 1904. For more than 120 years, the Thatcher family have remained committed to their craft, combining tradition with innovation while never losing sight of the family values that built the business in the first place.
Those values really resonate with us at Bird Hills Golf Centre.
Family, community, quality, looking after our surroundings and building something for future generations are all incredibly important to us. Although we operate in very different industries, there’s a shared belief that people matter, quality matters and the future matters.

As you make your way down the 1st hole, you may notice our beautiful apple orchard trees growing alongside the tee. These trees are a lovely connection between Bird Hills and Thatchers and, as they continue to grow and mature, we’re looking forward to seeing them become a real feature of the opening hole for many years to come. 🌳🍎
