What a performance yesterday 👏⚽
We continue our Summer League with another great performance.
Maghull 8 - Apollo FC 2

Every single one of the girls put a real shift in. With only the bare 11 available, they showed their intent right from the first whistle.
Playing against the wind in the first half, we started strongly and took the lead, only to concede shortly after. The girls' heads never dropped, and they responded brilliantly, getting straight back on the front foot with some outstanding finishes.
We knew it would be tough playing into the wind, but the girls worked incredibly hard and deservedly went into half-time 6-1 up.
At the break, we spoke about it being a different game in the second half, focusing on our passing and taking a little pace off the ball. The wind continued to make things difficult, catching passes and carrying the ball away, but the girls adapted well and added another two goals for a thoroughly deserved victory.
A huge well done to Lillie, who was awarded Parents' Player of the Match. She was a constant threat all game and a real goal machine today! ⭐
As for the Managers' Player of the Match, it goes to all of the girls. They were simply outstanding from start to finish and did us all proud. 💛💙⚽

⚽ Summer League Opener ⚽
Maghull 0 - 0 FGS Seville
An exciting first game in this year's Summer League with plenty of positives to take away. The girls showed great determination throughout, with some solid defending, excellent link-up play through midfield, and several great efforts on goal.
After a really strong second-half performance, we were unlucky not to come away with the win, but it was a fantastic team display and a well-earned point to start the campaign.
A special mention goes to Lily and Amber, our Girls of the Game, for their outstanding performances. 👏⭐
Well done to all the girls — a great foundation to build on for the rest of the Summer League! 💙⚽

Shield Cup Final 🏆

Today are Girls come up with the goods! 25/26 Shield Cup Winners 🥇😎😁👏🏼⚪️🔵⚽️

So so so proud of these Girls, to end the season with some silverware is nothing short of what they deserve. They have came away from games this season against the top 4/5/6 Teams praised for being the better team. It’s the recognition they deserve and we’re really excited for next season already!😁

It was a tense, end to end, competitive, enjoyable Final! Both Teams made a statement of why they was in the Final. Barca are really strong completion and out 4 times facing each other this season, today was the closest game we’ve had. Respect to Barca’s Management and Players showing great respect and being gracious in defeat it’s what’s a massive occasion to them Girls 🫶🏼

Thank you to AA Barca for the Game, we hope to see you again next season and wish you all the luck 🤛🏼

We’re filled with Pride today as Management. For most of the Girls it’s their 1st Winners Medal, as it’s ours to 🤌🏼 such a pleasure to achieve this with these Girls 💙🤍

GOTG 🥇
I wish we had 10 Girl of the Game Trophies but you have to find a difference to award a Girl. For us today are GOTG was ‘Captain Fantastic’ Penny 😁 she gave us that extra 1% effort today. Every Header won, every challenge solid, positive with the ball and some great efforts on Goal 👏🏼 she lead as a captain and the Girls followed her performance.

Shield Cup Semi Final 🏆
Maghull 3 vs 0 The Fillies

Both sides put on a performance worthy of being finalist! The Fillies made a good account of getting to the Semi Finals, coming close on a number of occasions. A game that was shared possession soon became a game to own by Maghull taking are chances with some fantastic finishes from are Goal Machine Emma with Two ⚽️⚽️ and Captain Fantastic Penny ⚽️

The Girls have had some really good performances of late but not been able to secure the points. They deserve there place in the Final and fingers crossed they can secure the Trophy and bring it back to Maghull!🤞🏼

GOTG 🥇
This award deservedly went to Emma. It’s the Goals that get you through to Finals but that aside, her work rate was menacing. Emma didn’t stop, she was a defender’s nightmare. Her 1st goal was a poach in the box ⚽️ and 2nd a solo effort with a run from her own half and calmly finished⚽️. Shows the dynamic she brings to our Team 👏🏼 well done Emma 😁

Well done Girls, Win or Lose Sunday your are Winners 💪🏼 you deserve this 😎
