How many classes should I be doing?

This is the most common question I get asked and it has so many different answers depending on you and your goals so let's go through a couple here:

🖤 I want to build strength 💪

Building strength in any part of the body requires the application of repeat resistance training with progressive load. If you did one class a week yes you will be working your muscles but you would hit a glass ceiling in terms of how much you strength you can gain. The more classes you do, the more strength you will gain and faster.

🖤 I want to increase flexibility 🤸‍♀️

Pilates is the go to for 'lengthening' and strengthening. Flexibility training is not just stretching you need to strengthen the muscles too. A common conundrum is whether the muscle is 'tight' or 'weak' and my own experience of this in my hips is that it was both. Through working with and taking up Reformer I can now do the splits to my hearts content 🤣 I'm rambling so back to the point... one class a week would definitely improve your flexibility and keep it maintained, bit again more classes would increase it faster.

🖤 I want to improve my posture 🧍‍♂️

Reformer Pilates is THE wake up call for realising how 'good or bad' your posture is. Even after the first couple of reps into footwork you will have found out if you have a pronation in your feet, dominant leg, uneven hips or shoulders. It's brutal...but it's telling you exactly what you need to know about YOUR body. And so the journey begins! Your instructor can see it, you can feel it and together through guided mindful movement you address it and improve it 💫

So to answer the question overall, 1 class per week of course will have its benefits, but 2-3 is like pushing the turbo button towards achieving your goal 🖤
