I am the Principal of the Sian Dixon School of Dance. My training started locally, first with Susan Theodore and then with Miss Browning of Bridgend continuing full time at The Hammond School of Dance in Chester at the age of 16. It was here that I gained my teaching qualifications in RAD Ballet, ISTD Ballet and Modern and a

lso studied to Advanced and post Advanced level. After graduating I danced abroad for 6 years gaining valuable professional experience of life in dance companies. I started my teaching career in the Dance School attached to Aberystwyth University and then went on to teach for the Swansea Grand Theatre School. After consulting with other dance teachers in the area I was given the very good advice of starting a school in Maesteg. The school has now been in existence since 2000 and we have fabulous facilities in our own studio. We boast a 100% pass rate in both RAD Ballet and ISTD Modern syllabus. I was invited to become the RAD Chairman for the region, Wales, South West of England and the Channel Islands which is a very rewarding experience and keeps the school at the heart of new ideas and thought processes. The school is supported by a fabulous group of parents and an engaging group of students and continues to grow and develop.
