It was a pleasure to be invited onto the Cymru Sport Podcast. It’s been fantastic to reflect on everything Llan Women have achieved over the last two years, as well as the incredible growth of the Llan girls’ section and women’s football as a whole.

So much hard work has gone into this journey from everyone involved, and we’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come. The future is exciting, and we can’t wait to see what’s still to come💚⚽

Julie, where would Llan Women be,
Without your love and loyalty?
Every week, through rain or mud,
You wash our kits with care and blood.

Not just shirts thrown in a pile,
But numbered neatly, pair by style.
The right shorts matched, the socks all there,
A little act that shows your care.

You mother us all in your own special way,
With sweets in your pockets and wise words to say.
And when life gets heavy or confidence dips,
You steady us all with your big cwtches.

You keep all our secrets locked safe in your heart,
You’ve been our safe place right from the start.
No favour too big, no job too small,
You give your everything to each of us all.

At 60 years young, you still leave us behind,
Smashing the fitness challenges time after time.
Training beside us each week without fail.

You are the glue that holds this team tight,
The heart of Llan Women, our guiding light.
And next season, when the moment is right,
We’re getting you on that pitch, and it will be our turn to cheer loud and proud,
Because nobody deserves it more than our Julie.

You don’t just help us, you help us believe,
And that’s something no team could ever achieve alone.

So thank you, Julie, for all that you do,
For every wash, every laugh, every kind thing too.
Llan Women would never survive without you,
Our Julie, our legend💚

We headed to Rogerstone with a point to prove after conceding so late on Thursday. We wanted to show a positive togetherness and get back to winning ways. It was Rogerstone’s final game of the season and we enjoyed a fun, spirited game and also some player roulette.

Llan scored freely in the first half, passing the ball well and showing patience before slotting passes through the Rogerstone defence. 10-0 at half time was harsh on Rogerstone but with many of their players taking a try in goals, they persevered and dug in.

The second half saw our defence and attack switch positions. You’d have never known it, as our new formed attacking line was excellent in possession, calm and accurate with their passing. It was enjoyable and bonkers at the same time, but we all enjoyed!

The final score ended 14-0 with our goalkeeper scoring the final goal 💪

Credit is due to our amazing captain, Cathy, who was really missed on Thursday. It was great to have her back. Cathy has such a massive impact on the whole team, both on and off the pitch.

A special thanks to our supporters who made two long trips this week, who have followed us to every game and been our biggest cheerleaders on the sidelines! We couldn’t have had the season we have had without you! 💚🤍

An away double header for the Llan ladies this week. A long trip to Penywaun on a Thursday night followed by another long trip to Rogerstone on Sunday.

We anticipated a tough game against a much improved Penywaun side. We started well and scored two early goals and took a 2-0 lead. However, despite our best efforts Penywaun scored at vital times to always keep themselves in the game. 2-1 half time.
The second half was full of frustration with some poor refereeing decisions that affected both sides, meaning a stop-start scrappy game. Llan managed to take a further lead at 3-1 and our energy levels rose! Penywaun lifted themselves and caught us out a few times, scoring again to make it 3-2. Then a last minute penalty was converted to make the final score 3-3

A huge Welldone to our players of the match Courtney H and Sadie 💚🤍

The big top of the table clash ended in disappointment for the Llan Ladies today, a loss that ended our 7 game win streak!

Battled hard from the first whistle, fought as a team and chased everything down. Despite having our fair share of possession and opportunities, it wasn’t our day today.

One moment of composure from the Cosmos number 18 decided the game. Well done to Cosmos for a competitive and enjoyable game.

Shout out to our keeper Emily for an outstanding save in the first half, and to Darcey and Kim for a shared POTM! Well played both 🫶

Big Game tomorrow!

We head to Cardiff to play against the only team to ever beat us in the league. Both teams battled hard on the first game of the season - but the ladies are ready to do battle again for the 3 points this weekend! 💪

The fixture will now take place at Eastern Community Centre due to the poor weather. Postcode CF3 1XZ

Please come and cheer us on, as we aim for our 8th win in a row 💚🤍
