Another smiley happy face after their review session last week 😄😄

Elaine had lost just over 7lbs of body fat when we checked in at her review session and the smile says it all!

She has been super consistent both with her gym sessions and her nutrition, and you may of even caught us out running together a couple of times 🏃🏼‍♀️

⭐️⭐️ SUCCESS SUNDAY ⭐️⭐️

Can we just take a minute for Laurieann?! 😍

She was in for a review session recently and had lost another 7lbs of body fat 🔥 how amazing is that?!

Laurieann has been training with me every week religiously since summer 2023 and in that time, as a result of her consistency, she has lost a whopping 25kgs 😮 and the difference is clear to see between her most recent pic with me and her very first review picture!

I can’t tell you how proud I am of this gal! 🥹

Well done Laurieann! You’re an inspiration to so many others!

I have been so bad at posting lately, but I absolutely had to share Linda’s recent success!

Since coming back to the gym after Christmas she has been working so hard to put in place sustainable habits both in the gym and the kitchen to help her reach her goals! And it’s WORKING 🔥

Since her last review Linda lost a whopping 4kg of body fat and is continuing to make progress!

⭐️⭐️ SUCCESS SUNDAY ⭐️⭐️

I have been rubbish at posting lately, but I absolutely couldn’t let this one pass without celebrating for her!

This week it was Sonya’s turn for one of her regular reviews and after completing another 12 week programme she’s only gone and lost another 6kgs of body fat 🤯🔥

Sonya has been working so hard on both her nutrition and exercise habits, all while keeping up with a super busy work and family life, and I am super proud of what she’s achieved so far! 🥇

Well done Sonya, keep up the hard work! 🏋🏼‍♀️

NW Fitness & Nutrition is proud to be supporting the Deveronvale Community Hub’s Christmas Hamper event this year 🤶🏻

The community hub provides support to local families ensuring that they can have a special Christmas too 🎄

As a group, myself and my clients will be adding to our donation box each week, which will then be collected by one of the hub’s volunteers in December. The items collected will then be divided into hampers and given to families in time for the festives 🎅🏻

✅ Five Week Fat Loss Phase ✅

In the last five weeks I’ve dropped 3kg of body fat in the lead up to my holiday ☀️

In order to do this, here’s what I did & didn’t do:

✅ Tracking my calorie intake - it’s really hard to know how much fuel you’re giving your body on the daily without tracking 🧮

✅ Hitting my protein target - I aimed for 110 - 120g of protein daily (your target might be different), which helped me maintain my lean mass and keep me satiated between meals 🥩

✅ Staying active with steps every single day - I strength trained 3-4 times a week, ran once a week and walked daily, this meant that my body was using more energy day to day which is a great way to increase your deficit.

✅ I tracked how consistent I was being with these habits using a consistency tracker which meant I could SEE how well I was sticking to the plan 👀 in the end I hit 97% consistency over the five weeks.

❌ I didn’t force myself to eat foods I don’t enjoy, I made sure that my meals hit the spot and were actually enjoyable! You’ll never stick to anything long term if you don’t enjoy it.

❌ I didn’t overtrain or punish myself with exercise. I trained as normal and kept myself active by walking and cycling (which again are things i actually enjoy doing).

❌ I absolutely didn’t cut out chocolate 🍫😆 I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… a weight loss or fitness journey DOES NOT mean you need to cut out foods that you enjoy, you can still have these in moderation. In fact I believe that factoring in a sweet treat can help you stay on track and mean you won’t be left feeling deprived and then wanting to binge.

This has been a reminder for me that progress isn’t about perfection or quick fixes. It’s about small, consistent actions stacked up over time (which is exactly what I preach to my clients).

If you’re on your own journey: stay patient, stick to the basics, and trust the process 🙏🏼

A Sunday well spent ✨

Had a lovely morning of relaxation with one of my clients & friend today 🧘🏼‍♀️ We treated ourselves to an amazing sound healing session with the lovely Lynne at Bliss & Be in Banff!

A fitness journey isn’t just about lifting heavier, running faster. It’s also about giving your mind and body the rest they need.

Stress can massively impact your progress. Elevated stress hormones can impact sleep, slows recovery, and even makes it harder to build muscle or burn fat. That’s why managing stress is just as important as your workouts and nutrition.

Whether it’s sound baths, massage therapy, meditation, or simply taking some downtime for yourself, these are powerful recovery practices helping calm the nervous system, improve circulation, and allow your body to fully recharge so you can come back stronger. ✨

Remember: Progress isn’t only made in the gym. It’s also made in how well you rest, reset, and recover.
