🌿 Today we’re celebrating our greenkeepers! ⛳️

A golf course doesn’t look after itself, and here at Royal Tarlair we’re lucky to have Patrick and Robert keeping everything in shape throughout the year.

From the first light of the morning to the jobs that never seem to end, they put in the work behind the scenes to keep the course playing and looking its best.

They work through sunshine, showers, wind and whatever else the North-East weather decides to throw at them! 🌧️💨☀️

So today, on National Day, we want to give a huge thank you to Patrick and Robert for everything they do for Royal Tarlair. 👏

🏆⛳ WHAT A DAY AT THE ROYAL TARLAIR OPEN! ⛳🏆

A massive THANK YOU to all 143 golfers who entered this year’s Royal Tarlair Open! 👏👏

The conditions were certainly challenging at times, but the course was looking and playing fantastically, and we hope everyone enjoyed their day at Royal Tarlair! 🌊⛳

A huge shout-out to all our brilliant volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes — in the kitchen, selling raffle tickets and keeping things running at the desk. Your help made the whole day run like clockwork, and we really couldn’t do it without you! ❤️👏

🎉 50 YEARS OF PATRICK IRONSIDE! 🎉

Today we celebrate an incredible milestone as our greenkeeper, Patrick Ironside, marks 50 years at Royal Tarlair Golf Club. ⛳️👏

Fifty years!

For five decades, Patrick has worked tirelessly behind the scenes, through sunshine, rain, wind and probably more than his fair share of golfers asking, “When are you cutting the greens?” 😄

The result speaks for itself. Our course is always in fantastic condition, and we know how much work, care and pride Patrick has put into making Royal Tarlair the course it is today.

On behalf of all our current members, past members, visitors and every visiting party who has enjoyed the course over the years, we want to say a massive:

THANK YOU, PATRICK! ❤️👏

Your dedication, hard work and commitment to Royal Tarlair over the past 50 years is something truly special, and your contribution will be remembered for many years to come.

Patrick will retire at the end of this year, so we’ve still got a few months to enjoy the benefit of his hard work — and, no doubt, a few more opportunities to blame the greenkeeper when our putts don’t drop! 😂

Congratulations on an amazing 50 years, Patrick. You’ve quite literally helped keep Royal Tarlair looking its best for half a century.
