Rebels u11

Was a difficult one today we certainly didn't look at our best. A combination of lack of cohesion and ring rust pretty much the reason for our under par performance.

We were reactive rather than pro active. Probably and mixed in with a drop in quality on the ball we seemingly got punished when we gave the ball away.

Positives were that we still tried to get back in the game and were well on top when we pulled it back to 3-2 only to get sucker punched after giving the ball away and not dealing with a long punt, which killed the momentum we had.

Johnny was motm based on his endless effort being everywhere on the pitch.

Hopefully we will learn from today and pick up in the fitness and quality once the boys get some more game time under their belts.

Thanks to everyone who helped out with putting out and wrapping up the respect barriers etc.

First game back and the lads worked hard against a good team. We were a little rusty but to be expected. Harry was immense at the back today along with Jacob in nets really strong performances from both. Need to keep working on being brave and getting the ball down and passing. Overall a strong effort and narrow defeat but lots more to come from the lads.

🏆 The Vikings 11–0 Holmes Chapel Hurricanes

What a way to start the season! The Vikings opened their campaign with a huge 11–0 victory in front of the home crowd at Christ the King Arena.

It was brilliant to be back at it on opening day this morning, and even more special to welcome Austin into the Viking family.

WOW — did the Vikings put on a performance! 🔥

From the starting whistle, the Vikings came out flying, with shots coming in from Austin, Lawson and Jonas. It wasn’t long before Austin opened the scoring with an almighty strike that gave the keeper absolutely no chance.

And Austin wasn’t finished there! He followed it up with a fabulous free kick — one that Bruno Fernandes himself would have been proud of! 🎯 The keeper could only watch it fly into the net.

Austin completed his hat-trick just before half-time, putting the Vikings in a fantastic position heading into the break.

The second half saw the Vikings determined to push on and continue their dominant performance, with Lawson adding our fourth.

Then came an absolute beauty. We won a free kick just inside our own half, and George put it quite literally on a sixpence for Lawson to slot home. The fifth goal was simply perfection. 👌

Harry then joined the goal scorers, grabbing our sixth and seventh after some beautiful footwork down the left wing, cutting inside before calmly finishing.

Lawson completed his hat-trick shortly afterwards with another composed finish.

The goals kept coming, with George, Freddie and Austin — securing his fourth of the game — rounding off an emphatic 11–0 victory.

*_But it wasn’t just about the goals today_*

We saw some excellent passing and movement throughout the game, with some of the balls played out wide for our wingers to run onto being absolutely spot on. The wingers had acres of space to attack, and while there were a couple of occasions where we became a little congested through the middle and were a little guilty of not talking to each other, the potential was clear to see.

The through balls from both Jonas and George were timed brilliantly and executed even better. Parents were calling for special mentions for both of them — absolute playmakers today! 👏

Defensively, the whole team did exactly what was needed. Everyone got behind the ball when required, and we were closing players down immediately with our “no time” rule. I don’t recall a single player backing out of a challenge today — fantastic commitment from everyone.

And although Isla had a relatively quiet game between the sticks, she still commanded her box as always, like an absolute pro. She remained alert and ready whenever called upon, while the defence did a great job of shielding the ball and protecting her.

The partnership between Isla and George is just magic to watch. 🧤❤️

All in all, an extremely promising opening-day performance from the Vikings. A fantastic team effort, plenty of goals, some brilliant football and lots of positives to take into the season.

Well, that’s one way to start the new season! 🔥💪
After what has felt like a very long summer, the lads finally got back out there today for our first competitive game of the season, and I honestly couldn't be happier with what I saw.
Considering we haven't had much in the way of training throughout the summer holidays, I think the boys were absolutely brilliant. You could tell there was a bit of rustiness at times, which is only natural, but once we settled into the game, we really started to show what we're capable of.
From the first whistle, we were on the front foot. We dominated possession, competed for every ball and controlled the game all over the pitch. We moved the ball well, created opportunities and, most importantly, we played for each other. 👏
Every single player worked their socks off today. Nobody gave up, nobody hid, and everyone put a proper shift in. Whether they were defending, attacking, making a tackle, tracking back, making a run or simply helping a teammate out, every player contributed.
And that's what made today so pleasing — it wasn't about one individual player, it was about the whole team. ❤️⚽
The lads showed great attitude, determination and togetherness, and that's something we need to carry forward throughout the season. There will obviously be tougher games ahead, and we know we can't take anything for granted, but if we continue to work with that same effort and team spirit, we're going to give ourselves a great chance in every game.
And most importantly...

I genuinely couldn't pick one player today. Every single one of them deserves recognition for the way they played and the effort they put in.
It's only the first game, but there are plenty of positives to take from today. We've got plenty to work on, plenty to improve and plenty of football still to play, but the foundations are there.
If we can get back into regular training, keep working hard and continue playing with that attitude and togetherness, then I honestly think we're going to have a cracking season. 🔥🌪️
A massive well done to every single Hurricane today. You did yourselves, your teammates and everyone connected with the team proud. ❤️

A winning start to the new season saw the Hurdsfield Raiders U11 playing their first league game together, come out on top against a decent Winsford Town Saxons Greens.

The first quarter was well balanced, with both sides creating half chances. Raiders looked composed in possession and solid at the back, with Hector and Harry giving Winsford no space to play. Freddy was lively throughout and almost finished a move that went from back to front.

After 22 minutes, Jayden made good ground on the right and found Oscar, who calmly slotted home the opener. Just before half‑time, Oscar turned provider, slipping in Henry who bounced off a defender and hammered his finish into the top corner.

The second half stayed bright, with Harley always looking to clip clever passes over the top and be a general mischief to the other team. Eight minutes in, Albie popped up centrally and poked a pass through for Oscar to score again.

Ben then produced a crucial save, stretching high to his left to keep the clean sheet intact. Oscar then completed his hat‑trick, Henry buried a low free‑kick into the corner, and Leo added a smart assist for Oscar to round off the scoring.

Coaches player of the match, Oscar. Not just for the goals but his link up play and the way he changed the game when he came on.

Parents player of the match, Hector. Calm and solid in defence, set the tone for a deserved clean sheet.

A fantastic performance from the lads today...
From the first whistle, we showed great energy, determination and quality all over the pitch. The defending was excellent, with Wilf, Ralph and Bobby putting in superb performances and keeping things solid at the back.
Roo and Isaac were excellent throughout, while Leo ran the midfield perfectly, showing great pace, tackling, composure and precision with his passing. He controlled the middle of the pitch and was outstanding from start to finish.
Up front, Joel, Jack and Squire were all excellent and caused the opposition defence problems all game. Jack could have easily had four on another day — he just couldn't get the ball to go in today!
Arley was excellent in goal in the first half, before moving outfield in the second half and getting himself on the scoresheet.
The goals came from Joel and Arley — a brilliant haul from Joel and a well-deserved goal for Arley.
⭐ Managers' Man of the Match: Joel
Five goals says it all! A brilliant attacking performance and thoroughly deserved.
⭐ Parents' Man of the Match: Leo
Another excellent choice. Leo was outstanding in midfield and dictated the game with his pace, tackling and passing.
Two absolutely perfect choices. 👏

Rebels kicked off their season today playing a year up at the brilliantly organised inaugural Macc juniors u12 tournament today. Pleased to report a fine victory by the lads who got better and better as the morning went on. Super Ted was flawless and at times kept us in the final with saves galore, Tate was exceptional playing like a player much older than he is and weighed in with some superb goals. Brody was on a mission today and looked the fittest player at the tournament, a superb blend of passing, tackling and scoring. George was simply everywhere, strong, brave and with an abundance of skill and goals. Arthur dazzled on his debut scoring 11 goals and clinching top scorer in the tournament. Hugo battled and carried the ball well, superb passing with multiple assists. The lads are well and truly fired up for whatever challenges this season brings⚽️🎉🏆
