With matches across the North East Cheshire Tennis League, Acton Cup, National League & Junior Leagues, MTCs summer teams have had a busy month!

On Tuesday morning, the BBC weather forecast threatened to disrupt the upcoming evening match. What a load of codswallop! The heavy showers never materialised and players and spectators enjoyed pleasant sunshine. The MTC Ladies 2nd team pitted themselves against a strong team from Bowden. The opponents imposed themselves in the first round taking a 3-0 lead. The second round had Macc winning 2 sets leaving the score going into the final round at 2-4. As the sun set, spectators had to wrap up against the chilling air and resorted to tea and biscuits to stiffen their resolve. Marvelling at the strong forehands on show and the interceptions at the net, the onlookers were in awe of the skill and determination on show. Bowden ran out 9-3 winners after a hard fought competition. The team will go into the next match knowing they played very well and should feel proud of their performance.
Rachael and Josie deserve extra credit for playing a match for the 1st team only 24 hours before. 🤩

MTC Open Day: There was a great buzz around the club this weekend as we hosted the annual Open Day.

Jonny’s coaching sessions were a great success with lots of parents and juniors in attendance and enquiring about potential memberships.

The volunteering team did an amazing job too so the kitchen/bar/barbecue/games ran like clockwork. We also had Canalside Radio down to support the occasion
