๐Ÿ“‹ MATCH REPORT โ€“ CATCH-UP (Week 8 & 9)
๐Ÿ“† 10th โ€“ 20th November, 2025

Itโ€™s been another two weeks of action in the NWCSL & NWWSL for Bollington! โœŒ๐Ÿผ

Bolly Ladies only have one Match left of the first half. ๐Ÿคฏ So far they sit 5th in the table with 2 wins and 3 losses. One of those losses came at the start of the week when the side made the trip to Grove Park. On freezing cold Courts, the side simply couldnโ€™t get going. ๐Ÿฅถ Nic was the only winner on the night, having nearly thrown away a 2-0 lead! ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜…

The 4-1 defeat was a reversal of the sides 4-1 victory the week before, when the side hosted the Northern. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ It took Bea a warm-up game to get going, before eventually wrapping up the evenings Squash with a 3-1 win. There were also wins for Madisen, Nic and Jen on the sides route to victory. ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅณ

If the pattern of LWLWL continues, the side are set to win their final Match against Liverpool on Monday! ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜… Good Luck ladies! ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€

Onto Thursdayโ€™s Matches and it has also been a mixture of fortunes for the Bollington 1st Team over the past two weeks. Last week the side found themselves in a top of the table clash with Bowdon! ๐Ÿคฏ The host side must have been worried as they brought in reinforcements form Division 1 for the fixture, who played Chris at first string. ๐Ÿ’ฉ โ€˜nuff said, moving onโ€ฆ It was also a tough night for Bea and Martin, who also lost in 3. ๐Ÿ˜ข

Highlights of the night included an impressive win for Harry as he continues his rise up the rankings this season; and a hard fought 3-2โ€™er for James, who was a Boast away from securing a victory with Match Ball in the 5th game, which he went on to lose 12-10! ๐Ÿ˜ซ๐Ÿค๐Ÿผ The night ended 4-1 to Bowdon.

From top of the table last week to bottom of the table this week, the side were able to get back to winning ways as they hosted Brooklands. Bea kicked off proceeding with a solid 3-0 win in her first Home game of the season! ๐Ÿซข๐Ÿ˜… A filthy reverse angle Boast secured Martinโ€™s first game ๐Ÿคฃ before he too brough home the W in 3. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ

Harry had hoped for a continuation for last weeks form as he took to the court to try and seal the victory for Bollington. Sadly, on this occasion Harry was off the pace and in this case the pain on his face, told the story of a 3-1 defeat. ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Thankfully, James got the side back on track with a quick 3-0, as did Chris to round off the night 4-1 to Bollington with 18 points gained! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿซก

Also at Home this week were the 3rds, short by a player, which put them on the back foot from the start. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Things only got better for the side when James stepped on the Court and came through 3 tie breaks: 12-10, 13-11, 13-11 ๐Ÿฅต for a 3-0 win; the sides only win of the night. Tom started strong going 2-0 up but was pegged back to eventually lose the tie. Final score 4-1, 17 points to 8.

The week before the side had a bit of a drubbing away to Bowdon. โ˜น๏ธ Georgiaโ€™s sole game saved the side from a whitewash, but it was a difficult night for the side. ๐Ÿ˜ข The opening Win of the Season for the team seems like a long time ago! ๐Ÿซ

Finally to Bollington 2. Bragging rights have firmly been with Lyndon over the past two weeks, as the sole winner over the last 2 Matches. ๐Ÿ˜ณ His 3-2 this week, along with Olliโ€™s game contributed to the teams 4 points against Bowdon, as everyone else went down in 3.

The week before it was Lewis picking up a couple more points, giving the Home side 5 points as they hosted the Northern. ๐Ÿ™ƒ The side will have to up their game over the next couple of weeks as they face Hyde 2 (technically Hyde 1), and last seasons relegated team David Lloyd. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿซฃ๐Ÿ˜…

Good Luck teams going into the penultimate matches of the first half! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ

๐Ÿ“‹ MATCH REPORT โ€“ Week 7
๐Ÿ“† W/C 3rd November, 2025

Rested and recharged after the half term break, Bolly were back in action this week in the NWWSL and NWCSL for another round of League Squash! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ

The week started for the women at Cheetham Hill! Frustratingly it was a wasted trip for Vicki, who was informed that the side had 4 players, only after making the 30-mile journey to get there! ๐Ÿ˜ค With a 1-0 head start, Nic soon doubled their lead with her first win of the season, 3-0. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ Unfortunately, things went downhill from thereโ€ฆMadisen went an unhealthy shade of red after battling hard against semi-pro Amy Royle! ๐Ÿฅต Her and Jen both lost in 3, while Georgia was able to get a game, but ultimately lost 3-1. Final Score 3-2 and 13 points to 7.

On to Thursdayโ€™s Matches and we start with Bollington 2, who made the trip to Grove Park. With a stacked team, the side were hopeful for a good result! ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿผ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿผ With Matt back from Uni, he topped the team with younger brother Lewis playing 5th String. Both Robins boys secured victory in their respective matches. ๐Ÿฅณ After losing the 1st game 12-10, Matt went on to take the match 11-9, 11-9, 11-9! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ Lewis on the other hand wasnโ€™t messing around and got his Match won in 3! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ

In her 5th away game of the season, and second trip to Grove, Bea was also able to get W with a 3-1 victory at 2nd string. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ The sides only loss came from Andy, losing his Match 3-0 โ€“ nightmare! ๐Ÿ˜ฉ Highlight of the night, although he might not agree ๐Ÿ˜…, is Olliโ€™s comeback from 2-0 down; battling through 2 tie-breaks in the 4th and 5th game to eventually get the win! ๐Ÿฅต๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ The night ended 4-1 to Bolly in their 2nd win of the season!

At Home, Bolly 3 also played Grove Park. They werenโ€™t so fortunate in their 4-1 defeat to the travelling side. ๐Ÿ˜ข First on, Nic succumbed 3-0 before Zach, the Vaseline destroyer, levelled the Match by the same score. ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿฅณ

Following on from that, the wheels fell off Jamesโ€™ comeback from 2-0 down. Taking the 4th game 12-10, he couldnโ€™t continue the fight in the 4th as he went down 11-3. His 3-1 loss was matched by Georgia, who narrowly lost the 3rd game 11-9 before also losing the 4th 11-3. ๐Ÿ˜ฉ The night ended with Madisenโ€™s 3-0 defeat at 1st String, completing the 4-1 loss, with 8 points gained (including Junior Bonus points).

On the other Court, Bollington 1 hosted the Northern 3. The night kicked off with Harry scrapping through an opening 11-8 game. Things got better as he settled into the game and took the next 2 games 11-4, 11-1 (no bagel this time! ๐Ÿ˜…) Chris continued the momentum and despite some lapses in concentration, also won 3-0! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ

Bizarrely George managed to go from a bagel in the 1st game to game ball down in the 3rd game. ๐Ÿฅฏ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ A ballsy rolling nick levelled the 3rd game 10-all before the Uni man was able to close out the Match 3-0. ๐Ÿซก Martin followed and fell in line with the 4th 3-0โ€™er of the night: 11-9, 11-8, 11-5. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

It fell to James to complete the clean sweep for Bolly 1โ€™s first 5-0 win in 2 years. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ๐Ÿ˜… Without dropping a game, the side took 20 points to 0 which puts them in 2nd place! ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Not long left before we reach the Christmas break! ๐ŸŽ„
Until next week! โœŒ๐Ÿผ

๐Ÿ“‹ MATCH REPORT โ€“ Catch-up!
๐Ÿ“† 2nd October โ€“ 23rd October, 2025

Itโ€™s been a few weeksโ€ฆhere is a quick round-up of this monthโ€™s Squash in the North West Counties Squash Leagues and the North West Womenโ€™s Squash League! ๐Ÿคช๐Ÿคช

Bollington 1 โ€“ 50/50 over the last 4 Matches and sitting 4th 6 Matches in! ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ

The month started with some of the worst planning weโ€™ve ever seen! ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ 3 of the regular 1sts were away for their encounter with Crewe! ๐Ÿซฃ Luckily the travelling Crewe team were just as weak, and with the help of George, the side were still able to pull off a 4-1 victory! ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ˜… It could have been 5-0 if not for a dubious double bounce escaping the refereeโ€™s gaze in Olliโ€™s 5-game marathon! ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜ณ

Local derby week followed against Prestbury - not such good news. Other than James continuing his rampant rise up the rankings with a 3-0 win, everyone else lost by the same score for a tough 4-1 defeat. ๐Ÿ˜ข

The see-saw of fortunes flipped again as Bolly 1 hosted Alderley Edge. The two Ogdenโ€™s lost top and tail of the team, while the mid batting order of James, George and Harry brought home the 3-2 Victory, all winning in 3! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ Finding Harryโ€™s Mini in the middle of the car park at the end of the night was an unexpected highlight of the eveningโ€™s Squash! ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

Finally to last week, where the 1sts travelled to Grove Park. Martin kicked off proceedings and found himself on the verge of a victory, after a back and forth 5-game thriller! ๐Ÿฅต Just falling short 11-9 in the 5th got the side off to a bad start. James soon got the side back on track, beating his bogey player of the past couple of years. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ Chris also managed to get the win to put Bolly 2-1 up! Bea was unlucky not to sneak the 4th game (13-11 ๐Ÿ˜ฉ) which may have swung the final result. Had Harry also managed to convert any of his 11-9 games, again, who knows what may have happened. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ If onlys aside, 9 points from a 3-2 loss isnโ€™t too bad of a result going into the Half-Term break.

Bollington 2 โ€“ Tough opening matches with a shining light thrown in! ๐Ÿ’ก

Over the past few matches Bolly 2 have played 2 of the top 3 teams in their League. As maybe expected, these both ended in 5-0 defeats for the Bolly side. ๐Ÿ˜ข Both Matches on the road, the combined score of 7 points shows just how tough it has been. Against Bowdon, Lewis only narrowly missed out on a win, losing the 5th game 13-11! ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿฅต Against table-toppers Glossop, Lyndon suffered the same fate, losing the 5th 13-11 as well as falling out with the referee throughout. ๐Ÿ˜…

The sole win for the seconds so far this season came at Home to New Mills! Rob was the only player to lose at 2nd String. Both Lewis and Lyndon won in 3, while Madisenโ€™s Squash was just too good and intense that it injured her opponent in the 4th game, which saw her take the 3-1 win. Olliโ€™s 3-2 battle at 1st String sealed the 4-1 win for the seconds! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Last week the side faced the strongest Brooklands side they could. It was positive that they only just lost out 3-2 to the travelling side. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ Lewis again found himself amid a 5-game marathon! ๐Ÿฅต The Match couldnโ€™t have been closer as the youngster eventually lost: 11-8 11-13 13-15 14-12 8-11. ๐Ÿ˜ซ It turned out to be the deciding game as Olli and Andy both won 3-1 while Lyndon and Madisen lost 3-0 and 3-1 respectively.

Bollington 3 โ€“ Top two team troubles & a local derby!

Itโ€™s been a tough 3 weeks for the 3rds who have faced the top two teams in their League. Both resulted in 5-0 defeats unfortunatelyโ€ฆJames E was the only player to get a game last week vs Alderley Edge. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ The week before he secured 2 games before running out of gas in the 5th. ๐Ÿฅต There was also a game apiece for Zach and Georgia, who took the 4th game to a tie break, but found herself on the wrong side of 12-10. ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

In their only other Match this month they faced Macc 2. While there were two great wins for Zach and Georgia, ๐Ÿฅณ the rest of the team couldnโ€™t get going in their respective fixtures, all losing 3-0 for a 3-2 defeat overall.

Bollington Ladies โ€“ 1 win, 1 loss each from both Bolly Ladies Teams! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Thanks to a new 3rd Division, Bolly has 2 teams competing this year. ๐Ÿฅณ The new team of 3 took part in their first Match on Monday 6th October. They faced sides from Grove Park and Prestbury. It was great to see the ladies competing in their first NWWSL Match! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ They lost to a more experienced Grove Park side 3-0 but ended up winning the Match vs Prestbury by Walkover.

Bollington 1 made their Division 1 Debut, also against Prestbury. There were solid wins from Madisen & Georgia at the top of the team. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ With Jen and Vicki both picking up a point in their 3-1 losses, the match rested on Nicโ€™s result at 4th String! Things were looking good as she took a 2-1 lead, only to be pegged back to 2-all and into a 5th game. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Sadly, it wasnโ€™t to be and she went down 3-2 making it a 3-2 loss for the team. ๐Ÿค๐Ÿผ Still, 10 points gained from their opening match!

Last week they took on Warrington with better fortunes. Vicki kicked off the night with a nail biting 3-2โ€™er! ๐Ÿซฃ After going 2-0 up: 11-3, 11-3, a win looked inevitable! Fast forward two games later and itโ€™s 2-all and nip and tuck in the 5th! ๐Ÿ˜ฉ Thankfully, she pulled through 11-7 in the 5th to put Bolly 1-0 up. ๐Ÿฅต๐Ÿ˜… It proved vital as Nic and Georgia both ended up losing in 3. Madisen steadied the ship at 2nd String, winning 3-1 to set up an almighty battle at 1st String for Bea. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ Team Match: 2-all. Beaโ€™s Match: 2 all and 10-all in the 5th. ๐Ÿซฃ It couldnโ€™t be closer with everyone on the edge of their seats behind the Glass! There was a premature round of applause as it appeared Warrington had won. ๐Ÿคฃ The crowd however had the wrong score (thankfully) as it was Bea who eventually came out on top 14-12 in the 5th! ๐Ÿฅต๐ŸฅณGreat win Bea and great win ladies! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ

Well done everyone on a good monthโ€™s Squash! Until next time (hopefully not as long awaited) โœŒ๐Ÿผ

๐Ÿ“‹ MATCH REPORT โ€“ Week 2
๐Ÿ“† Thursday 25th September, 2025

Welcome back! ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿผ Round 2 of Matches in the NWCSL sees all 3 sides take to the court this week!

Bollington 2, in their first game of the season, hosted The Northern 5 to kick of their 2025/26 campaign. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ Reluctantly Olli ended up playing this week and sods law went on to have 1 of 3 3-2 Matches on the night! ๐Ÿ˜… Devastatingly none of them went Bollingtonโ€™s way! ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Olli: Lost the first 11-9 before levelling by the same score. Sneaking the 3rd game 12-10 seemed to sap his energy and the next two went the oppositions way 11-6, 11-2. ๐Ÿฅต

Andy: Started strong and took the first 2 games, however as Andy started to drop off his opponent picked it up and completed his comeback, taking the next 3 11-9, 11-8, 11-6. ๐Ÿซฃ

Rob: Had the closet chance to close out his 5-game marathon. Going 2-1 down he was able to regain control in the 4th, winning it 11-9 and forcing a 5th game. The points went back and forth, but despite his best efforts, fell at the final hurdle and lost 11-9 in the 5th! ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Lewis was the only player with bragging rights on the night as he won convincingly 3-1 after a slow start. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ Lyndon on the other hand, started slow and got slower, as he went down in 3. ๐Ÿข Not an ideal opening for the 2nds who lost their first match of the season 4-1.

Also playing the Northern this week were the first team, looking to keep the momentum going after their opening win last week. Chris took to the court first and soon found himself 2-0 up with an unusually good short game. ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ A slight loss of concentration in the 3rd, meant he dropped a game before racing to a 10-3 lead in the 4th! ๐Ÿคฏ A sever bout of cramp saw him lose 5 Match balls as he desperately tried to find a winner from anywhere! ๐Ÿ˜ณ Luckily he had a big enough buffer, and a tight Backhand Drop clinched the opening Match 3-1. ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

Next on James had to work hard to secure his opening two games 11-9, before he too dropped the 3rd game. Pulling it back in the 4th, Bolly were now 2 games up. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ

Bea and Harry the Bageller ๐Ÿฅฏ followed. Bea had to dial it in after going 2-1 down! A hard-fought 4th game saw her steal it 12-10, which allowed her to relax and start slotting winners in left and right! ๐Ÿคจ A strong 11-2 5th game won the Match for herself and the team! ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅณ On the other Court, Harry had taken a game to warm up but soon stunned his opponent with his relentless rallying! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ His first Bolly Bagel ๐Ÿฅฏ came in the 4th game before he strolled to an eventual 3-1 win, making it 4-0 Bollington. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Bucking the trend ๐Ÿ˜… unfortunately the night ended with Martin going down in 3. He found the tin considerably more than his opponent. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ Still a good 4-1 win for the 1sts and the perfect start to the season. What could go wrong? ๐Ÿค”

Finally, Bollington 3 made the trip to Grove Park. Itโ€™s early days but Grove 6 looking strong this season, and it showed in their 5-0 drubbing of the travelling Bolly side. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Madisen ended up on the wrong side of two tie breaks in the first two games. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ The disappointment of not converting those games meant the 3rd game wasnโ€™t as close as she went down in 3. ๐Ÿ˜ข A fate shared by Zach.

There was a game for Georgia who came up against man mountain Eugene. โ›ฐ๏ธ After narrowly losing the 3rd game 12-10, she eventually succumbed 11-3 in the 4th. ๐Ÿ˜ฉ There were also 2 games a piece for James and Tom G, who both went 2-1 up before being found out in the 4th and 5th for a 3-2 defeat! ๐Ÿค๐Ÿผ

Despite the harsh 5-0 score line there were still some points to be had by the thirds who picked up 9 points (junior bonus points included) against Groves 20! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

On to week 3 next week which will be the penultimate week before the Bollington Ladies kickstart their 2025/26 campaignSโ€ฆ.. ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿค”

๐Ÿ“‹ MATCH REPORT โ€“ Week 1
๐Ÿ“† Thursday 18th September, 2025

Bollyโ€™s Back Baby! For another season of Squash in the North West Counties Squash Leagues. Court heaters fired up, some half arsed limbering up and Curry on the stove, the 2025/26 season has arrived! ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅ

Bollington 1 and 3 kicked off their campaigns, sharing the Home Courts, as they faced newly promoted Knutsford 1 and Alderley Edge 7 respectively. No Match for the 2nds this week, who already have a well-earned week off. ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜…

Martin walloped the first Ball hit of the Season as he started the knock up first on. ๐Ÿ‘Š With the ball (and Martin) whizzing around the Court, the first game could have been anyoneโ€™s. After that point however, it was slightly more one way traffic on his way to a 3-0 defeat at 3rd string. ๐Ÿ˜ข

Welcome to the fold, Harry! ๐Ÿ‘‹ Bollyโ€™s new first team recruit made an impressive start to his Bollington career, flying out of the blocks on his debut to level the Match with a 3-1 win. His relentless retrievals proved too much for his opponent on the hot Bollington Courts! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿฅต

Knutsfordโ€™s own new recruit faced Bollyโ€™s Chris in the third Match of the evening. After somehow taking the first game 13-11, his opponent suddenly woke up as took a convincing 2-1 lead with some outrageous outright winners. ๐Ÿ˜ณ A gutsy 4th game from Chris took it to a 5th game, and with a 9-7 lead, his opponent fading, a cross-court drop that only needed to make the front wall, clipped the top of the Tin and game over! ๐Ÿ˜ซ 3 quickfire points and bang, 11-9 Knutsford and a 3-2 defeat for Chris! ๐Ÿ˜ญ

If nothing else it kept the night interesting as both Matt and James now needed to win their remaining Matches to take victory! ๐Ÿคž Not only did they do just that, but after a close first game, both went on to dominate the next two games, not giving their opponent a look in on their way to 3-0 victories! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ช

Great opening Match from the 1sts, winning 3-2 and 16 points to 7! ๐Ÿฅณ

Over on the other Court, Bollington 3 had an equally mixed start to their evening. James got the side off to a good start with a 3-1 victory, closing down a comeback from his opponent after initially going 2-0 up. ๐Ÿ‘ Sadly, Tom lost by the same score โ€“ winning the first game and gradually fading in the next 3, scoring 5, 4 and 3 as the match went on.

Not to worry, Rob and Lewis were on hand to convincingly get the match back on track with two 3-0โ€™ers at 1st and 2nd string. ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จBoom. ๐Ÿ’ฅ 3-1 Bollington with the match secured! ๐Ÿฅณ

If left Zach to finish the evenings proceeding with what turned out to be a marathon tussle and eventual 3-2โ€™er. ๐Ÿฅต Things were looking close at 11-9, 7-11, 9-11, with Zach 2-1 down. But at 9-2 up in the fourth, the opposition confidently stated, โ€œI can see this going to a 5thโ€. ๐Ÿค” He was right. ๐Ÿ‘ It did go to a 5th which Zach also took convincingly, 11-2, giving him a 3-2 win and the team a 4-1 in their opening Match! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ช Well done team, keep it up! ๐Ÿ‘
