This sounds like the basics, because well it is… But if you don’t have an understanding of the basics how do you progress?

So many gym members will be put off attempting a workout if they don’t feel comfortable with the equipment available

A huge thank you again to all the instructors who worked so hard and must be knackered, the Gymbox crew who put on an amazing performance and made aerial look easy, and a massive thank you to the security who helped secure multiple tents (including our own) during high winds… I’m so happy to have found this little fitness festival with its own community of amazing individuals… See you in 2024. 🤞🏼💕

These slots will be limited to first come first served, and charged at a rate of £40/session for one-to-one appointments

I will also be offering block booking discount on on-to-one sessions (4 sessions for £150) and small group offers (3 people for £15/pp or 2 people for £20/pp) meaning there are options to suit everyone’s budget

High reps and low weights (endurance training) aim to safely fatigue the muscles, making this a perfect class for all levels

We also make sure to include the SMARTSTART option to leave after the first 30mins, meaning beginners can aim towards completing the full class at their own pace

During these sessions you will learn:
✅Basic principles of training
✅How to plan and track sessions
✅Advanced lifting techniques
✅Basic anatomy and functionality
ALL IN 45mins

Yesterday my THRIVE ladies carried out a glute and hamstring focused workout, and we covered:
💥Appropriate warmup exercises (activation/mobilisation)
💥REPS/SETS/RPE
💥How to structure the workout (pre vs post fatigue)
💥How to properly target glute and hamstrings (foot placement, shin angle, hip hinge, heel drive etc)
💕
This is a really advanced and educational class, broken down in the simplest way possible for all levels of experience
💕
The best thing is this class is FREE to all members
💕

Recently I’ve had more and more enquiries regarding lunchtime classes

Exercising on your lunch break results in an endorphin-spike which can increase energy and productivity levels
💕
My regular afternoon classes are:
1️⃣Thursday BODYPUMP 13:30
2️⃣Friday BODYPUMP 12:30
Both at Macclesfield Leisure Centre
💕
Both these classes are 45min barbell classes focusing on high reps and light weights to build lean, athletic muscle
💕
With the Les Mills SMART START option you can easily reduce this class time to 30mins, during which most the compound lifts and largest calorie burn will be achieved - an option many of my regulars take

Exciting news, I recently accepted a role at as a fitness instructor and member of gym staff

I will be posting a timetable soon for all my upcoming classes at this club (members can view the full club timetable via the Rise Fitness Clubs app) but for now let me introduce ‘Tone and Technique’
💗
‘Tone and Technique’ is a 45 minute educational class focusing on an introduction to strength training, and will cover the following:
▫️Basic introduction to principles of training
▫️45 minute strength workout
▫️Technique coaching of basic to more complex lifts
▫️Discussion and questions
Every Saturday, 9:30am-10:15am bookable via the Rise Fitness Clubs app and FREE to all club members

Autumn ‘the season of change’ presents many opportunities for cardiovascular training outdoors, or ‘green exercise’

I personally enjoy a walk round Rudyard Lake in Leek; 120mins, 500-600cals, and LISS training burns more calories from fat

Green exercise is accessible to most and offers many health benefits such as:
1️⃣Boosts serotonin levels by increasing exposure to sunlight, which can reduce symptoms of SAD
2️⃣Boosts endorphin production which can help alleviate anxiety and depression
3️⃣Promotes neuroplasticity by experiencing different environmental stimuli

Two common reasons adults don't adopt more physically active lifestyles are their lack of enjoyment and/or anxiety around entering a gym environment…
