We are back!!!!!
We have certainly missed seeing our players out and about every weekend and listening to the coaches moan about missing net pegs and how tangled up a respect barrier is 🤣🤣.
We are also welcoming some new teams and coaches to the mix this season and will be showcasing them over the next few weeks so keep an eye out and say 'Hi' when down at BRN.
Now lets have the first reports of 2026/27.....
💚Under 8 Magpies - Great effort from the whole team today! We found our rhythm against strong opposition, with plenty of positives to build on.
Kian was brilliant in goal, calm and confident, pulling off some excellent saves. Great work!
Louis and Emmett were solid in defence, tracked back well and protected our goal fantastically.
Joe and Joey worked tirelessly in midfield, covering plenty of ground and linking up play really nicely.
Sofía and Cruz ran their socks off, endless energy and effort all game. We’ll keep working on getting tight to opponents!
Joshua settled in beautifully as the game went on, growing in confidence and getting stuck in. Well played!
All round great attitude from everyone. We’ll take the positives, work hard at training, and come back stronger!
🐍Under 9 Cobras - So it was the first game of the season for the Cobras and we started against familiar opposition and fellow St Anne’s side, the Vipers.
The team started well creating a few chances through good link up between Jack & Lochlan, but Vipers punished us with 3 quick fire goals. Cobras didn’t let their heads drop though and kept fighting, Jack was in inspired form laying 2 goals and for Lochlan, before he turned provider for Benji who buried one levelling up proceedings.
Lochlan looked a constant threat and bagged a couple more goals before the break with powerful finishes.
Second half was challenging as Vipers forced us back before scoring a couple of goals of their own. Dan and Ron were working solidly at the back, with Emi also giving her all and nearly scoring after a mazy run.
Lochlan grabbed his 5th goal of the game, what league debut for him and Benji harried the keeper before pinching it and poking home.
A really even fun game between the 2 St Anne’s teams who both looked a credit to the club. Lots to work on but a good start and something to build on for the season. Up the cobras!!!🐍

🐍Under 9 Pythons - Tough game today for the Pythons, still getting back into the swing of things, while integrating a couple of new additions to the squad. Incredible effort displayed all round though and some really good football on display. Things to work on in training, but a strong start to the season.
Goals today came from Sam and Arlo.
For the second week in a row, Orla is our Parents' 'Python of the Match' after an amazing battling display, showing true grit and courage. She's really come on leaps and bounds already since last season.
Coaches' 'Python of the Match' this week goes to Asher for really adapting his mindset, and being an absolute brick wall in defence, also linking play well with the midfield.

If this sets the tone for the season ahead, we’re in for some ride! An absolute thriller away at Poulton Blacks that had a bit of everything and went right down to the wire! 🔥
Best of all? The smiles on our players’ faces! 😁 And none bigger than Bradley’s after a sensational performance — two goals, two assists and the Captain’s Player of the Day award! 👏⭐️
Teddy was on fire too, bagging a hat-trick, including an absolute 🚀 of a long-range free kick! Just as impressive was his work rate, constantly tracking back and helping the team out defensively — earning him one of the Coaches’ Player of the Day awards! 👏⚽️
And a huge welcome back to Youssef after a summer away! 💛 Straight back into the action with a brilliant performance, an assist, and so close to getting on the scoresheet himself!
End-to-end. Full of drama. Smiles all round. What a way to get the season underway! 🙌⚽️
🖤Under 11 Blacks - Match report:
A proper game of two halves this morning!
After the summer break and our first game back, it definitely took us a little while to get going. We looked a bit rusty early on, but we stuck together, kept working hard and showed plenty of character to stay in the game.
The second half was a much different story. We found our rhythm, played some really good football and finished the game strongly. We were treated to a few wonder goals as well as some really well-worked team goals, which was great to see. ⚽️👏
There’s definitely a few things for us to work on, particularly how we start games, but that’s what these early games are all about. Plenty of positives to take and lots to build on as we get back up to speed.
The conditions were… well, typical of a home game for us, pretty much all four seasons in one morning! 😂🌦️
Most importantly, it was great to have the team back out there today and we’re all looking forward to seeing what the season brings.

St Annes U12 Yellows got their brand-new season off to a fantastic start with a hard-fought 2–0 victory over Foxhall Sporting.
💛Under 12 Yellows - From the first whistle, St Annes showed their intent, pressing from the front and looking to put Foxhall under pressure whenever they tried to play out from the back. The early pressure quickly paid off as new signing Freddie pounced on a Foxhall defender, winning possession high up the pitch before calmly slotting the ball home to mark his debut with a goal. A fantastic start for Freddie and the perfect reward for the team's early intensity. St Annes continued to press and created a plethora of chances, but the Foxhall goalkeeper stood tall, producing several excellent saves to keep his side in the game. AO pressed the Foxhall defender brilliantly, winning the ball back and immediately looking to turn possession into an attacking opportunity. He laid the ball back to Ella, another debutant, who showed fantastic composure. Taking one calm touch, Ella opened up her body and beautifully finessed her shot into the top corner.
The final whistle brought a deserved clean sheet and a 2–0 victory — a fantastic opening result to begin the new season.

💜Under 12 Purples - It was a lovely morning for football as the Purples played their fist game of the season away to Blackpool Rangers Blues and came away with a well deserved 4 - 1 win.
We opened the scoring following some good build up play with a pass from Louis to Johnny who slotted home our first of the season.
We pushed on and Johnny was unlucky to not score from a free kick which came off the crossbar and Hudsons follow up header was well saved. We started slowly in the second half and Blues scored an early equaliser and were beginning to get control of the game. Midway through the second half we retook the lead following a lovely tackle from Tom to set Sean through on goal and he scored a lovely goal into the far top corner. We kept the pressure on with Hugo pulling the strings in midfield. He linked up well with Louis and he scored a superb goal.

It was a good game and great start to the season.
💚Under 13 Greens -The Greens began their new campaign in changeable conditions, hosting Fylde Coast Soccer Blues.
The boys started brightly, putting the visitors under pressure from the off. Theo opened the scoring in style, finding the net directly from a corner! ⚽
The Greens continued to dominate possession and doubled their lead just a couple of minutes later, with Haz showing great persistence to grab his first of the game.
With Ben, Jack and Callum holding firm at the back, the boys continued to push forward. OJ made an immediate impact from the bench, scoring within three minutes of coming on. Further goals from JJ and OJ sent the Greens into half-time with a 5–0 lead.
The second half continued in much the same way, with the boys moving the ball positively and creating plenty of chances. Ted got his first of the season nine minutes after the restart before Haz added another midway through the half.
Making his debut in goal, Louie was a calm and assured presence whenever called upon. Haz then completed his hat-trick with seven minutes remaining to make it 8–0. ⚽⚽⚽
The Greens continued creating chances right until the end, with the Fylde keeper producing some excellent saves to keep the score at 8–0.
A really positive start to the season and plenty to build on, with Louie, Chi and NB all making their Greens debuts. 💚
