We have a fine collection of 5ks so far this week. Well done done to everyone getting out in the cold and getting it done. Submissions for this week end at midnight tonight. Stay safe if running in the dark and watch that ice!

Congratulations to Alex Fraser and Maddy Markham for their overall victories in the decider week of our hastily organised virtual 5k series.

It's great to see dedicated training and effort paying off; even more so to see both run their fastest times submitted in the final. Plenty more to come too!

Congratulations also to Claire Markham and Paul Veevers for taking the Vet crowns. Aside from taking the final week, Claire has also submitted the most runs throughout the series and with running consistency is absolutely the key.

Veevers took the time out from holidaying to submit his effort and we are looking forward to getting back to training and flying round Parkrun with him again soon!

We have some tech tees for you Champs named above if you would like one. Just drop us a message with your size and address and we will get them sent out contact free. Well done again Alex, Maddy, Claire and Paul.

Thank you so much to EVERYONE who submitted runs over the four weeks, it means more than you know and motivated us to continue to keep getting out and pushing to progress too. There has been some quality running and outstanding times put down across the board and we hope you all got something out of it too.

Hopefully next year we can put on a physical race!

There’s only so much racing you can do and we never really got to finish off our little 5k series
Club virtual events started up quickly followed by amazing events from then EA and a million more. We didn’t want to distract from participation but we’re down for one more 5k send to finish off what we started
We got 🐈 prizes a la Le Tour and most importantly we started this to give a bit of focus and get people running again so we are fully open to EVERYONE no matter what your pace

Just run 5k this week and post a screenshot of your Strava/Garmin/ NRC. You can post a selfie too if you like, we know people are into that- just save your run first- elapsed time accidents aren’t a nightmare 😉
