Throwback to 2013! 🎾

This fantastic photo of Lynton Community Tennis Courts reminds us just how great our courts can look. With a fresh paint job planned in around four weeks' time, we're hoping they'll soon be looking this good again and inspiring a new generation of players to pick up a racquet and give tennis a go.

And if you used to play on these courts, why not come back and join us? We'd love to see some familiar faces back on court!

While we wait for the refurbishment, the top court remains open for community use. Keys are available from Mr Baker at Lyn Candles.

Everyone is welcome, with your first social session free, £3.00 thereafter. We cater for all ages and abilities, with club sessions every Saturday (2–4pm) and Tuesday Short Tennis (11am–12pm during summer).

🎾 Memberships available:
• Adult £55
• Junior £30
• Family £100
• Social £10

Members receive a court key and can enjoy unlimited access to the courts throughout the year.

Court hire is also available all year round at £15 for 2 hours. (you don't have to be a member to hire)

Come and be part of our friendly tennis community! 🎾😊

The Tarmac has now been laid and now we have to wait 4 weeks for it to harden before the courts get painted. Thanks again to our neighbours that surround the courts for their patience and understanding. Our other court is still available to hire whilst we wait for our new court. So, if you fancy a game pop in and see Mr Baker at the Candle shop. Please visit our Web page for details. Kind Regards, Lyn Tennis Club

So exciting!!! The Tarmac has arrived. To our patient neighbour's, sorry for the smell.

TENNIS COURT RESURFACING UPDATE – TARMAC DELIVERY THURSDAY 4 JUNE 🎾

As many of you will have noticed, work began this week on resurfacing our lower tennis court. We are excited to be making these improvements, but we also recognise that the work may cause some temporary inconvenience, and we would like to sincerely thank everyone for their patience, understanding and support.

Subject to suitable weather conditions, tomorrow (Thursday 4 June) will see an important stage of the project take place, with two lorries delivering and laying tarmac on the prepared court surface.

Due to the narrow access lane and tight turning area into the car park, the lorries will need a clear route to safely enter and manoeuvre towards the entrance of the Bowls Club. We would be extremely grateful if anyone parking in the area closest to the left-hand turn into the car park could, where possible, park further into the car park for the day.

The two deliveries are expected at approximately:

🚚 8:30am

🚚 10:30am

Your cooperation, even for this short period, will make a huge difference and help the contractors complete this stage safely and efficiently.

Once laid, the new tarmac surface will need time to settle and harden before the next phase begins. In a few weeks' time, the court will receive its new green playing surface and line markings, allowing us to offer both Tennis and Pickleball on a fantastic new court for the community to enjoy.

We appreciate that the resurfacing work has brought some disruption, and we would like to offer our sincere thanks to our neighbours, members and visitors for their continued patience and understanding. Your support throughout this project means a great deal to us.

Thank you for helping us create improved facilities for our community.

Community Tennis Club Resurfacing Project – Day 2

Day 2 of our tennis court resurfacing project got underway bright and early this morning! Before the rains came.....

We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the local community and our neighbours who surround the tennis courts for your patience, understanding, and support while these improvement works are taking place.

The contractors are continuing to remove the old court surface and prepare the ground ready for the new tarmac to be laid on Thursday. Please note that this stage of the project is weather permitting, and any significant rainfall could result in delays to the schedule.

We appreciate that there may be some temporary disruption during the works and are grateful for your continued cooperation and support as the works improve facilities for our community.

Court Improvement Works Starting This Week 🎾

Lyn Tennis Club is excited to begin work on our tennis court refurbishment this week. While we're looking forward to providing improved facilities for our members and the wider community, we appreciate that the work may cause some temporary inconvenience to our neighbours.

There will be periods of increased noise as contractors remove the existing court surface and prepare the ground for the new courts. In addition, there may be some tarmac-related smells on Thursday when the new surface is delivered and installed (Weather permitting).

We sincerely apologise for any disruption this may cause and thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support while these improvements are carried out.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at [email protected]

Thank you again for your support.

Exciting news from the courts!

One of our tennis courts is finally getting the long-overdue makeover it deserves. Resurfacing work will begin on Monday 1st June and is expected to take approximately 6–8 weeks to complete.

We know many of you can’t resist the pull of the courts, so the good news is that our other court will remain open for play throughout the works. You’ll still be able to enjoy a hit around — with the added bonus of a bird’s-eye view of the transformation in progress!

Thank you to the local community that surround the courts for their patience and support while we give the court a fresh new lease of life. We can’t wait for you to enjoy the finished result!

If you do have any questions, please contact: [email protected]

Thank you again to everyone who made this project possible.💛
