For those that are attending the Magna Carta Open Comp on Sunday there is a road closure for those of you coming off on M25 J11 (Chertsey turn off).
Where normally you would come off the M25 and turn right at the next roundtable and go past St Peters Hospital you should instead turn left.. This route is a couple of mins longer than the blocked route.
At Ottershaw Roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Chobham Rd/A319

Turn left onto Longcross Rd/B386
0.4 mi
Turn right onto Lyne Ln.

Turn right into Fangrove Caravan and follow NFAS arrows to Magna Carta.

The Magna Carta Field Archers Summer Open Shoot (Big game, Mixed targets) is on Sunday July 26th.

We have been notified by the land owner out course which is well known for its rhododendron will be cleared of them later this year (as will all the non-native species). Which will mean this will be one of the last chances to shoot on our current course.

We have plenty of spaces left.. Booking instructions in the details below:-

Archers at the Magna Carta shoot were asking about the origin of our Roboduck.

Its architect was Clive Walker a founder of Magna Carta over 30 years ago.

He got a local blacksmith to cut it to my template. It's still the original paint.

His creation way back as a joke version of the standard American final club course target of a full size Robo Deer.

Traditionally with Robo deer all broken arrow bits were left on the ground in front of it.... Clive reports that In the last club shoot in Montana these were several inches deep!

It gives me great pleasure to announce that Magna Carta Field Archers is putting on two Open shoots in 2025.. We had planned three but a renegotiation with the land owner meant we ran out of time.

NOTE: Carbon arrows are now permitted by the landowner with immediate effect. So our members and open shoots now can shoot them.

A "gimme" can best be defined as an agreement between two archers... neither of whom can shoot very well. ;-)
