Archers at the Magna Carta shoot were asking about the origin of our Roboduck.

Its architect was Clive Walker a founder of Magna Carta over 30 years ago.

He got a local blacksmith to cut it to my template. It's still the original paint.

His creation way back as a joke version of the standard American final club course target of a full size Robo Deer.

Traditionally with Robo deer all broken arrow bits were left on the ground in front of it.... Clive reports that In the last club shoot in Montana these were several inches deep!

It gives me great pleasure to announce that Magna Carta Field Archers is putting on two Open shoots in 2025.. We had planned three but a renegotiation with the land owner meant we ran out of time.

NOTE: Carbon arrows are now permitted by the landowner with immediate effect. So our members and open shoots now can shoot them.

A "gimme" can best be defined as an agreement between two archers... neither of whom can shoot very well. ;-)

Pleased to announce a Autumn Open shoot at Magna Carta on the 17th of November 2024.

This shoot will be dedicated to the memory to our fellow member and friend the memory of 'Wally Robson'. This will be a 'one arrow' shoot and a Trophy will be presented to the highest handicap scoring archer in Primtive/Longbow styles.
