It was wonderful weather today for the fabulous Grass Tournamnet 2026. ☀️ A real pleasure for us to host the very lovely Bowdon and Urmston players. Fabulous tennis, perfect weather, scrumptious food and the grass played beautifully. A win for Lymm!! Well done team!! 🙌🏻 A perfect afternoon all round. 🎾 ☕️ 🫖 🍰 🥂

Lots going on at the tennis club today!! 🎾 Grass court tournament Lymm v Bowdon & Urmston 12-4pm. The bar is open and our lovely Sue will be there to welcome you!! 🍹 So pop along and join us for a drink on the veranda and enjoy the tennis!! 🎾 🍻

Perfect weather for Junior Club Night last night!! ☀️ 🎾 and the children love our new goal posts!! ⚽️ 😃 Great to see the children, parents and also lovely to see so many people just dropping in for a drink!! 🥰 Lots of activity with two NEC matches battling it out and fantastic coach led tennis for the children!! Lovely to see you all!! 🥰🙌🏻

Availability continues to be a challenge across the club at the moment, but one of the real positives has been seeing so many players stepping up and representing teams higher than usual. The willingness of members across both the men’s and women’s sections to embrace the challenge is making a real difference.

There were some excellent results this week. The Women’s 1st Team secured a solid home win against Bellingham 1, while a Women’s 3rd Team made up largely of players who would usually represent the 4ths produced a fantastic victory over our friends at Penketh. The Women’s 8th Team also battled hard to earn a well-deserved draw.

On the men’s side, the 5ths picked up an excellent 7-5 away win at Bellingham 3, with Alan Wade and skipper Gary Bolton taking all four of their sets, while the 6ths returned to winning ways in style with an emphatic 11-1 victory over Rixton.

Elsewhere, the Men’s 2nds/3rds came up against a strong Lymm 2 side and lost 9.5-2.5 despite a memorable 6-6, 6-6 match, while the 4ths were beaten 9-3 away at DL.

Congratulations to everyone who got a result this week, and a huge well done to all those who’ve stepped up to play higher than usual. Your commitment to helping the club is producing some cracking tennis and some equally creative team photos 👀

And finally, special mention to Ollie, who once again ensured a post-match kebab was safely consumed before midnight 🌯😂🎾❤️

🎾🏆 Competition Success for Our Juniors! 🏆🎾

A huge congratulations to three of our players who have been producing some fantastic results on the competition circuit recently.

🥇 Safi has enjoyed an outstanding run, winning two Grade 4 U14 titles, claiming Grade 4 U16 Silver, and partnering Curtis to a Grade 4 U16 Doubles title.

🥇 Will P has also been in excellent form, winning the Grade 3 U12 Wirral Open Singles title, the Grade 3 U12 Derbyshire Open Doubles title, and stepping up to win the Grade 5 U16 Leigh Singles title.

🥇 Monty added to the success by winning the Grade 5 U14 Bellingham Doubles title.

These results are a testament to the hard work, commitment and enthusiasm the boys bring to training week in, week out. We’re incredibly proud to see their efforts being rewarded in competition.

Well done boys – keep up the great work! 👏🎾💚

🎾 Another fantastic week of league tennis for Lymm, with plenty of wins, local derbies, and great team spirit on display across the club.

The ladies’ section enjoyed a memorable evening as the 1st Team took on the 2nd Team and the 5th Team faced the 6th Team in a pair of friendly but competitive club derbies. The 1st Team and 5th Team came away with the victories, while the 8th Team added another derby success with a home win over Lymm Manor Road.

What made the evening particularly special was seeing so many players supporting one another both on and off the court before enjoying time together in our newly refurbished clubhouse. The 3rd Team also received plenty of encouragement as they took on league leaders Widnes 1. Several players stepped up to compete at a higher level than usual and did themselves proud, even managing to take a set from the division’s top side.

The men’s teams also enjoyed a strong week of results. The 1st Team secured a crucial point in Division One with a hard-fought 6-6 draw away at Bellingham, a result that could prove important as the season progresses.

The standout performance came from the 2nds, who stormed to an emphatic 11-1 victory. Myles and Ben were in ruthless form, serving up three 6-0 sets and opening what can only be described as a bagel shop for the evening! 🥯

The 4ths secured an excellent 8-4 win away at Grappenhall 2, proving the more determined side in a hard-fought contest, while the 3rds battled well against arch-rivals Newton 1, earning a respectable result despite facing very strong opposition.

The 6ths faced the challenge of taking on the league leaders and, although they fell to an 8-4 defeat, there were plenty of positives to take away. A special mention goes to Che, who stepped up brilliantly to collect three points alongside his partner, whose identity remains protected due to paparazzi concerns! 📸

Results are always important, but weeks like this are a reminder that our club is about much more than wins and losses. Great tennis, great friendships, and a fantastic club atmosphere made it another week to remember at Lymm. 💙🎾
