Reel Easy Angling Charters

Hi all
Just wanted to let you all know that I have retired from charter angling and Reel Easy has been sold. It was delivered yesterday to St Ives Cornwall all safe and sound.
It was a day of sad emotions as I’ve been fishing out of Keyhaven with various vessels on and off for some 50 yrs.
My wife and I are heading for warmer climates and to enjoy our retirement. No doubt I’ll get some local fishing in as I’ve kept a bit of the heavy tackle 😉 ( heard their are Marlin about )! Clear blue warm waters, no bloody wind and 11months of sun, whats not like eh !😍
Again I’d like to thank everyone for supporting Reel Easy angling over the years and I will miss you all…… well not all 😂😂

Firstly, Happy New Year to all!

Sorry for the delay in setting up this year’s calendar, but I have come to the difficult decision to put ‘REEL EASY’ up for sale.

Following my wrist operation and the subsequent second op, the strength in my wrists have deteriorated. With the Rheumatoid Arthritis, I also decided to retire from my plumbing and heating business, unable to carry out many of the tasks. Despite this, my intention was to carry on chartering, but my recovery time has lengthened and with the heavy work around the boat and the safety of myself and crew, it was proving very difficult to keep going.

My wife and I have decided to sell up and move to a warmer climate to aid my recovery and enjoy our retirement!

Having said that, it is my intention to keep fishing until the boat has sold (hopefully by the end of May), so I will be putting some dates on the calendar.

It is with a heavy heart I have made this decision, as I’ve been fishing and chartering for many years, making some great friends along the way and I’ve enjoyed meeting many new and old anglers alike. The stories I could tell will make interesting and comical discussions for many years to come.

I would like to thank everyone I’ve met over the years and thank you all for your support. I also hope you all continue your hopes of catching your dream fish or even the ones that got away!!

Please feel free to ring, text or email for any dates you might like, and I will keep everyone updated about the sale of the boat. However, please understand that if the boat gets sold, I will have to cancel any outstanding trips after the arranged sale date.

I will be doing all midweek dates as well as weekends until such time.

Also, if anyone fancies a very well looked after vessel… RING ME! 🙂

Hi everyone, wanted to let you know that next years diary is up and running for those sunny calm angling days out. It’s been busy already and I’ve just done it !! Book early to avoid disappointment.
Mid week dates are all available, 6 hr trips and evening trips weather permitting are all there to get booked.

Hi everyone
Just wanted to say a big thank you for all your support this year again. Has been a challenging year with the weather but when we got out, fishing was excellent.
Great year on the Bass with a lot of PBs which was nice to see. Tuna in local waters was just amazing to see, usual dolphin pods popping up chasing the bait fish and quite a few Sharks coming up to the boat.
I hope to see you all next year, heard the weather will be the calmest year on record 🤔 and you’ve all got new shiny rods and reels from Santa and had a Youtube overload on tactics and those special rigs 😉
I’ll be putting up next years dates over the holidays so check them out, I’ll be running midweek days as well as the weekends.
Anyway, have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.

Just a quick update on things fishy!

Managed to get out Sunday and Monday as the weather and tide played along for a change!

Sunday we had some double figure Bull Huss, best going 17lb, nice Bass to 5lb, Tope, Conger (but only one 😁), Bream and a few strings of mackerel and Scad.

Yesterday (Monday), decided to try again at same mark to get some Rays, we did just that! Lovely 7lb Spotted with a few other smaller ones, good double figure Undulates and Thornbacks, Congers (only four) Bream, some nice big Tope and a splattering of dogs. The guys had a great day. Here are a few pictures of Monday only.

Weather turning back to normal this week but fingers crossed for the weekend.

Hi everyone, just to let you all know the website has been re-built and is in full operation with the calendar up to date. Due to the dreadful weather we’ve been having, trips have been cancelled sadly. I do have have plenty of spaces into the new year so please check out the calendar and if you would like midweek just contact me and I’ll do my best to accommodate you. When I have managed to get out,fishing has been good. I have put a few photos up, can you guess where the lighthouse is? Reel Easy on tour 😁🎣

A massive shout out for Little Tommy and dad Danny for a fantastic Birthday Cake yesterday.
I had a great day with my family and the Cake went down very well 🎂😳.
Back to fishing now😂. Plenty of good sized whiting so far as we take advantage of the break in the constant winds we’ve had over the last few months. Few places available before the boat comes out in March so check them out.

Merry Christmas to everyone, have a great day.
Thank you for all your support again over the years it means a great deal to me. I will post all the photos I have taken this year, and next year will be more proactive in reports and photo publishing 🤭🤞.
I have started next years calendar on Web page and should be completed by end of year 😁. Get your dates in as soon as possible, especially over the summer months. I will be running again most days over the summer months.

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a great Xmas and you’ve dodged illnesses!
New year approaching fast and I’ve finally managed to get the website calendar done, so take a look at the dates, have a chat, and get booking 😊

I will be operating in the summer months again all week, not just weekends, so if you have dates in mind just make an enquiry for availability (evening too if tides work right).

I have been a little lapse in updating with pics etc. I know, but it’s a new year coming and I’m going to sort myself out🤞🤭. We had a great summer on the Bass and Bream so hopefully it will repeat itself 🤞
I’m trying this year a touch of toothy gritter angling, after trying for blues in Cornwall with good success I’m itching to have a go on my patch (not Blues sadly)! I’ll keep you posted on my efforts.
