All boat users please read this from south west water regarding a hosepipe ban ..

โ„น๏ธ Important information โ„น๏ธ

South West Water will be introducing a hosepipe ban for customers in Lyme Regis.

The restrictions will come into effect from 12:00 (noon) on Tuesday 14 July. However, given the significant pressure currently being experienced across the local water supply network, customers are being asked to comply with the restrictions immediately, wherever possible.

Under the hosepipe ban, customers are asked not to use hosepipes for activities including watering gardens, washing cars, patios or boats, and filling swimming or paddling pools.

The decision follows two extreme heatwaves in the last three weeks which continues to drive exceptionally high demand across the region, but particularly in this area. It is important to note that this is a demand-related issue and not the result of low reservoir levels.

South West Water's operational teams have been managing the local treatment works 24 hours a day for over three weeks now to ensure it continues consistently operating at full capacity.

To protect supplies, South West Water has implemented a range of measures, including transporting water into the area, rerouting supplies across the network, increasing leak detection and repair activity, and engaging with high water-use businesses to reduce demand.

Despite these efforts, sustained extreme hot weather has increased demand by approximately 5.4 million litres per day, placing considerable strain on the local drinking water supply network.

The hosepipe ban will remain in place until water demand returns to expected seasonal levels, allowing our water supply network to recover.

Further information for your constituents will be made available at www.southwestwater.co.uk/hosepipe-ban

๐Ÿ HUNSTANTON DELIVERED A TRUE TEST OF SKILL AND DETERMINATION ๐Ÿ๐ŸŒŠ

Round 3 of the 2026 UK Waterski Championship proved to be one of the toughest events of the season so far, as competitors faced challenging conditions off the Hunstanton coastline on Saturday.

Strong winds, rough water and relentless chop pushed racers, skiers and crews to their limits, demanding complete focus, teamwork and resilience from start to finish. Simply getting to the finish line was an achievement in itself.

Despite the difficult conditions, the racing was nothing short of spectacular, with competitors battling through the waves to secure valuable championship points and podium finishes.

Congratulations to all of our Round 3 winners and podium finishers, and a huge well done to every competitor who took on the challenge that Hunstanton threw at them.

A massive thank you also goes to the race officials, rescue crews, volunteers and organisers who worked tirelessly throughout the day to ensure the event ran safely.

The championship battle continuesโ€ฆ and if Round 3 is anything to go by, weโ€™re in for an incredible season ahead! ๐Ÿšค๐Ÿ’จ
