Very positive day at wales and west yesterday

Two fantastic double clears for OLLIE ECHO. A second in the 75cm open and 10th in the 85cm amateur qualifier proving ready to step up at his next outing following his surgery last year.

Also two green but willing rounds for 6yo DARARRA VIPER, A pole in both the 75cm open and 85cm amateur but such willing rounds and improving each outing so excited with what’s to come with him.

At Holmes Equestrian I am excited to now be able to offer schooling, competition, backing and breaking livery for horses and ponies of all sizes and ages including support for more challenging or problem horses.
We specialise in the sympathetic and correct production of young horses, providing backing and breaking services for horses aged 4 years and over. Our aim is to develop confident, willing horses through a patient, welfare-focused approach that lays the foundations for long-term success.
Based at the beautiful Sheepcot Farm, every horse benefits from individual care and attention within a professional and experienced environment.

Fantastic few days with various outings, including a fun ride, dressage competition, and showjumping.

Darrara Viper

A very busy week for this 6 year old, who took everything in his stride. We had a lovely day at the Cotswold Park fun ride on Saturday, followed by a dressage competition on Sunday where he placed 3rd. We then rounded things off with a fantastic day of showjumping, producing two lovely, willing rounds. I’m really excited to get him out more over the coming weeks.

Ollie Echo

Kicked off the weekend with a fantastic win at the Dean Forest riding club dressage show, which really highlights how much this horse has improved over the last six months. Today we took him showjumping, where he delivered two great double clears to place 2nd in both classes.

Alarm set for 3am to go eventing

A fantastic day at Hazelton for Ollie Echo in the 80cm for his first event of the season and first event post kissing spine surgery last year.
Top 10 placing with a lovely double clear although an annoying 4 faults xc for going too fast

*5’4” and light weight so able to ride smaller ponies
*15 years riding experience
*Based in the Forest of Dean (Gloucestershire) but willing to travel within reasonable distance.
*Full UK driving licence
*Experience working on 5* event yard, breaking yards and racing yards
*I have previously worked on various livery yards, private yards, and spent time on professional yards too. I am no stranger to hard work, specified routines for individual horses and their owners, and the responsibility for the running of a stress-free environment for both horse and owner
*Experienced handing foals, geldings, stallions, mares, broodmares, ottbs and horses of all ages/levels from 4yos to 5* event horses
*Experience competing at BS Newcomers (trained at higher levels)
*Experience riding horses of all levels/sizes/backgrounds/quirks: youngsters, ottbs, GP horses and I am used to riding horses ranging from those a bit more “quirky”, competition fit, with specialised needs, and those that just need to take things a bit slower.
*Experience riding and grooming at competitions and training shows

It’s been a while since I’ve been on this account but going to try and make it more regular.

Happy new year all my clients. Thank you all for trusting me with your lovely horses whether it be for training or competing it’s been a great busy year and it’s looking like 2026 will be no different.

I have experience riding all different types of ponies, horses, stallions and youngsters. As well as lunging, long lining and backing experience.
I can also work/break in ponies as little at 12.2hh
