An open letter to our 66 wonderful sponsors from club treasurer, Nathan in last weekends matchday programme.

Over the next few days and weeks we will be spotlighting each of these brilliant businesses & people on our social media pages ahead of the 2026/27 season.

We do still have plenty of sponsorship opportunities at the football club for next season as we continue to grow both on and off the pitch.

The family & the football club would like to invite everybody back up to the club after the match for a raffle, BBQ & music as we raise a glass & remember one of the very best.

A closer look at the trophy that is up for grabs in Jim’s memorial match tomorrow as we welcome Broadwell to Stowfield Park for the third edition of this special fixture.

The trophy reads - In memory of those who served 25 years & over to Lydbrook AFC.

On Saturday, prior to kick off, ourselves & Broadwell will lay wreaths designed in our club colours on the centre circle before observing a minutes silence as we come together as one to remember Jim.

We ask that anybody attending the game please be mindful of this when arriving at the ground to avoid disturbing this moment of reflection.

Timings for Jim Matthews’ memorial match next Saturday at Stowfield Park.

We are calling on all friends & Forest footballing people to come down next Saturday and join us as we pay tribute to a man who dedicated such a huge part of his life to Lydbrook AFC as well the wider footballing community.

Saturday 6th June:

The teams are locked in for Jim’s Memorial Match on Saturday 6th June.

Clemmy & Dan lead up a Lydbrook side made up of players from all 3 adult sides, ex players and nine players who have represented Lydbrook through the youth section of the club, something that we know Jim would certainly be proud of.

Bobble & Gary Powell will take charge of a Broadwell side made up of family, friends & Broadwell stalwarts, which is brilliant to see and will provide a great competitiveness to the fixture once again.

We very much look forward to welcoming everyone connected with Broadwell down to Stowfield Park for what should be another great game between two old rivals.

On the 2nd May we held our annual Awards Evening at Forest Hill’s Golf Club and would like to thank every player, partner, parent & supporter that turned out to celebrate another successful season for all three adults sides, it was a brilliant evening enjoyed by all.

We would also like to say a huge thank you to Mike Etheridge & everyone at Forest Hill’s for their continued sponsorship and wonderful service on the evening. The feedback on the food was superb all round and we are already looking forward to coming back next year.

Our final thank you goes to all of the sponsors who continue to push us forward as a football club and to our wonderful volunteers who go above and beyond to maintain the high standards expected at this football club.
