Bittesby Country Park parkrun has just completed its second event. It has been a busy few weeks for the Core Team. It is great that the people of Lutterworth and surrounding villages now have a local parkrun.
New parkruns donโt just happen. This was a year in the making. To get us to this point we need to thank the following people:
* GLP (Magna Park) who have given us the permission to use the park every Saturday.
* Councillor Paul Beadle (Lutterworth West Ward) who used his Ward Grant to give us the initial funding necessary to make it into a reality.
* David Eden (Savills) and Angela Jeffrey (Estate Manager) who have supported this venture from the very beginning and have done so much work to bring it to life.
* LX Pantos for providing us the Car Park.
* Man Commercial โ Magna Park Security who have provided us with radios and ongoing support on event days.
* Whitings landscapes for our trolley and future posts.
* Dame Kelly Holmes โ One of team was successful in bid for ยฃ500 which has funded vital kit such as this PA system and our finish funnel cones.
Aspire Pharma โ Who have given us funding for equipment and ongoing costs.
You actually need people! We have been supported by Kenny Anderson our Event Ambassador who has guided us to get to this stage and answered numerous of our queries. Roger Pangbourne Regional Event Ambassador who helped to get our paperwork past parkrun HQ.
Then you have the Core Team who answered our call for volunteers back in February; many of which have never done parkrun before and are stepping into new roles. They have been going to different events to get some practice in! Your new Run Directors (RDโs) will be Imi Watts, Liz Skidmore, Neil, Sian Clements and Charlotte Peters. Please support them when they step into the role each Saturday as without them the event doesnโt go ahead.
Our group of RDโs have been supported by the team of Ben, Emily, Mark and Marilyn Tucker, David Styring, Naomi, Mark Currie, Tanya Rushin, Carolyn, Paul Nixon, Ronnie Dennis, Lesley Stevenson and David Jacques. Where possible this group have been taking up volunteer roles at other events and have been encouraging others to be part of the team.

We want this parkrun to be fun and friendly however you participate (run, jog, walk or volunteer) we want this to be your new community on a Saturday.
