Chris pushed our Seniors straight into the foundations.

They began with drills, but this time Chris added another challenge — dancers had to keep the movement going while travelling around and navigating each other in the space.

No stopping. No losing the groove. No switching off.

Then came choreography that was complex enough to really challenge our experienced Street dancers, while dancers less familiar with the style had to dig in and keep working.

Because Hip Hop has its own movement language.

Groove. Rhythm. Foundations. Musicality.

And just like Contemporary, Lyrical or Freestyle, learning another genre means being willing to feel uncomfortable while your body figures something new out.

We LOVED seeing the reaction from dancers when something they’d been working on finally clicked. 🙌

CHRISTOPHER DONNELLY — JUNIOR HIP HOP ✨

The juniors absolutely loved this one - Chris brought so much fun into the room, but underneath that energy was some seriously challenging Hip Hop training.

The choreography wasn’t simply about learning steps. Chris took dancers back to foundations, groove, rhythm and musicality, helping them understand what makes Hip Hop feel like Hip Hop.

And he got them moving from the very beginning with drills that were as much fun as they were valuable.

For some of our Juniors, this was familiar territory. For others, completely outside their normal training BUT the energy never dropped.

SAMARA TONG — SENIOR CONTEMPORARY ✨

DIFFERENT TEACHER. DIFFERENT MOVEMENT LANGUAGE. 🤍

Senior Contemporary masterclass asked our dancers to step into a movement style that, for many, felt completely different from their usual training.

And that’s the point.

There was a huge emphasis on detail — understanding the quality of each movement, where it originates and how seemingly small choices change the way choreography feels.

Our Seniors were challenged to stop relying on familiar movement patterns and really listen to what was being asked of them.

Three days into an intensive, tired bodies and tired brains… and they still committed. 🔥

ONE DAY 1 MOMENT WE COULDN’T LEAVE BEHIND… 🔥

Back to senior commercial masterclass for one Standout moment that absolutely deserves its place on the grid.

Midway through the masterclass, Wallis asked ._ to step forward and demonstrate — recognising not just the choreography, but the way she was performing from start to finish.

Her attitude. Her use of space. Her face. Her commitment to making every moment a performance, without looking for validation from the lecturer.

And when it came to her solo… you can hear Wallis’ reaction for yourself.

She came into the room ready to take everything from it… and that’s exactly what she did. 🔥

A very well-deserved Standout moment of her own.

MORGAN HEMPHILL — FOOTWORK & MUSICALITY ✨

And we finished Day 2 by taking our dancers somewhere completely different. 🔥

Footwork & Musicality masterclass challenged dancers to think about movement from the ground up.

Working through footwork, weight placement, rhythm, hip action and coordination, dancers were asked to explore movement patterns that were very different from many of the styles they train in every week.

And that’s important.

Being a versatile dancer isn’t only about being able to perform different choreography, it’s about understanding how your body moves across different styles.

Some of this felt unfamiliar. Some of it really challenged them. But those are often the classes where there is the most to take away.

Rumba, Cha Cha and finishing with Samba.

A completely different way to finish Day 2 and another opportunity to add something new to the dancers’ training toolkit.

JAIDE — STRETCH & TECHNIQUE ✨

Day 2 started by getting right back to the foundations with 🤍

A brilliant all-round Stretch & Technique masterclass, working through a variety of exercises designed to improve flexibility while developing the strength and control needed to use that flexibility safely.

There was a real focus on alignment, placement and understanding how the body should be working, not simply how far you can stretch.

What we particularly loved about this session was how much dancers could take away and continue using within their own training.

Strong foundations. Better understanding. Practical tools to keep progressing.

Such a valuable way to start Day 2.

A STANDOUT MOMENT OF HER OWN. 🤍

We asked Josh to select one dancer to showcase his junior choreography and it was Jon other than .dances15 from . ✨

Taking everything from the workshop and stepping forward alone takes confidence, especially with choreography designed to challenge musicality, strength and expression.

You may have noticed Isha appearing in our Standout moments quite a lot this COLLABORATE… 👀 Different lecturers. Different styles and again and again, she caught their attention.

A very well-deserved Standout recognition from Josh. 🔥
