Well done to everyone who competed today! Massive congratulations to Katie and Elena who won the Jenny Oโ€™Shea and Michael Hardy awards respectively for the best track, and best field performance of the day ๐ŸŒŸ

Shoutout to everyone who helped make today possible: organisers, officials, parents and athletes โฑ๏ธ

SAL 2026

Despite virtually maximum points from our throwers throughout the season we were still relegated after 2 years in Div2. There were some great results all summer so we hope to bounce straight back up!!

Luton Throwers in action for their National League clubs. Jordan starred with a new discus pb of 45m and 56.83 in the Javelin making the cut with both. Jo finished second in the javelin with a very respectable 38.67., 5th in Shot with 9.17 and also covered Discus and Hammer to get SBH. Suzy had a great day 39.67 hammer (4th), Discus 31.13 (5th), 5th in javelin and shot. Zacks had a quiet day by his standard but still managed 29.66 hammer (4th), won the b string discus with 41.54, 13.27 shot (2nd) and 34.36 Javelin. All the throwers contributing substantial points for their teams.

Benji was also in action at English Schools in the Senior boys shot. He made the cut and finished 8th overall with a new PB of 13.55. The competition was won by Lawson Capes who is world standard but it was very close from 3rd to 8th

After a strong season in America, Herbie was able to handle the last lap burn up, finishing 2nd in England and 3rd in the open race! ๐Ÿ’จ

Excellent performances today from the Luton Throwers at the South of England Championships in Bedford.

A very respectable 5th place for Jo Blair with 39.67m, in the wet still nursing an Achilles injury. ๐Ÿ‘

2 bronze medals for Zack Grinsted , 43.85m in the Discus and 13.35 in the Shot. Shot was wet and slippery so to only be 11cm below his pb is outstanding. ๐Ÿฅ‰ ๐Ÿฅ‰

Another big pb for Zack at the Loughborough open. 45.12 with the Discus, which is over the England Athletics championship qualifying standard and 7th in the UK at U23. Still more to come from him and Jordan this season ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ‘Š

We had a great turnout at the East of England Championships in Cambridge whilst our u10s and u12s competed in the Youth Athletics meet at Bedford! ๐Ÿ’ช
