Update ** 24.6.26. - Bins have been cleaned by LBC, unfortunately they forgot to add the bin liners !! 🙄

Many of you will know that we have been requesting proper LBC bins for the Wandon Close/Telscombe Way alleyway since mid-March. Today, after months of chasing, two bins have finally been installed.

However, it is disappointing to see the condition they are in, and that no bin liners have been provided, meaning they cannot currently be used as intended.

We have emailed the council this evening asking for these issues to be rectified as soon as possible, and will keep you updated on any response received.

Thank you for your continued support and patience. 👍🏻

An interesting update on Companies House today, as three directors have terminated their positions at Foxhall Homes Limited.

Two of the directors had held their positions for less than 24 months, while the third, Tom Shaw, had been a director since the company’s inception on 1 April 2017.

The changes may be of interest to those following the company’s developments and future direction.

Please keep a look out for Albie. 🐾

Albie is a house cat who sadly escaped yesterday after jumping out of a window in the Chesford Road area. He isn’t used to being outdoors, so may be frightened and hiding nearby.

His owner is understandably very worried and just wants him safely home. Please check sheds, garages, outbuildings, and any places where a scared cat might seek shelter.

If you spot Albie or have any information, please get in touch with us as soon as possible.

Thank you 🐾

🗣️ UP-DATE RE PROPOSED PEDESTRIAN CROSSING AT HAYLING DRIVE.

On the 24th April Luton Council advised us in the interest of safety of residents that a zebra crossing was due to be installed at the entrance to the building site at Hayling Drive
by the end of May, when this didn’t happened we contacted the Council enquiring about the zebra crossing.

We have now been advised of the following by Luton Council that the Council's Highways Department has reassessed the plan for the zebra crossing and has proposed the alternative solution, see below for residents safety :

All vehicles will be marshalled by a dedicated banksman located at the site gate.

No deliveries or vehicle movements will be allowed at the gate during morning and afternoon school drop-off and collection times.

No vehicles will be allowed to park around the site entrance at any time in order to maintain line of sight for pedestrians.

New signage is being installed, along with double yellow lines.

A physical barrier will be installed perpendicular to the right-hand footpath (as viewed from the road, to the right of the gate). The purpose of this barrier is to prevent pedestrians from crossing the carriageway at an oblique angle, away from the gate, where they are outside the banksman's immediate sightline and where crossing distances are greater. The barrier will channel pedestrians toward the gate frontage where the banksman can see them, the crossing distance is shortest, and the banksman's operating procedure provides the greatest degree of protection.

Why has it taken this long for the Council's Highways Department to re-assess the pedestrian safety issue at the site entrance at Hayling Drive - they must have been aware of the situation for at least the last six months, where was their forward planning ?

Note it only only says ' proposed ' - so goodness only knows when it will actually be in place. Watch this space, we will keep you updated.

Thankyou.

Good morning

We have been notified today by Boom Construction that UK Power Networks will be in attendance this Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th to bring the cable into site, along the marked-up view below.

The supply is being taken from the end of Wandon Close, this will allow mains supplied lights to be installed along the alleyway.

There is a chance that for a period of time on these days, that pedestrian access will be obstructed, so please make alternative routes for walking, school pick up etc.

UKPN state that they will try to maintain access during their work but cannot promise, the route will be opened when they finish on both afternoons.

Boom will ensure signage is displayed on Monday morning, but please spread the message.

Thankyou
