We would like to say a huge and heartfelt thank you to Luton Rising for their fantastic support of our Lutonian Cricket Club Fun Day, held on Monday 3rd August at Lower Wardown Cricket Ground.

Their generous support helped us deliver a truly fantastic day for our children, players, families and wider community, bringing everyone together through cricket, fun and community spirit.

At Lutonian Cricket Club, we believe sport is about much more than what happens on the field. It’s about bringing people together, giving young people opportunities, building confidence and creating memories.

We know everyone loves a close title race... so apologies for ruining the suspense! 😉

It has been an absolute dream of a 2026 season for Lutonian Cricket Club. We are so proud of all our teams for dominating the Bedfordshire

Competitions this year:
🥇 County U15 South – 1st place (325 pts)
🥇 County U11 South (Hard Ball) – 1st place (104 pts)
🥇 Development U11 South (Soft Ball) – 1st place (172 pts)
🥇 Girls U11 Division South – 1st place (84 pts)
🥇 Beds Women’s Softball PT1 South – 1st place (28 pts)
⏳ County U13 South – Trailing by just 1 point (252 pts) with 2 games in hand... we’ll let you work out the math on that title! 🧮💥

Shoutout to our Under 9s as well for racking up 10 wins out of 13 matches! 👏

HISTORY MADE! ECB U11 Girls County Champions 2026 🏆

What an unforgettable day for Lutonian Cricket Club as our Girls U11 team were crowned ECB County Champions in their very first season! 💙

The girls defeated Eversholt CC to complete a remarkable debut campaign.

🏏 Lutonian CC: 86/5 (16 overs)
🏏 Eversholt CC: 65/7 (16 overs)
🏆 Winners by 31 net runs

To make the occasion even more special, England cricket legend Sir Alastair Cook officiated the final and presented the trophies and medals to our young champions.

To win the county title in their inaugural season is a testament to the hard work, dedication and passion of our players, coaches, volunteers and supportive families.

This is just the beginning for girls’ cricket at Lutonian CC. The future is incredibly bright!

Match Report – Lutonian CC vs MCC

A tough day against MCC, but plenty of positives to take from the game.

Asfand gave us the perfect start, picking up two wickets in his opening spell and putting the opposition under early pressure. Well bowled, Umer, and great spells from Zaim, Manan, and Hamza, who all bowled with discipline, hit the right areas, and consistently challenged the batsmen.

We’re a young team, and while there were lots of encouraging signs, our fielding is still an area we need to improve. That’s something we’ll continue to work on together.

With the bat, we got off to an excellent start thanks to Raif and the young Malik, who both batted really well. We then lost a few wickets in quick succession, which put us on the back foot. Zaid F was unlucky to fall to a very good delivery, while Adeel showed glimpses of the quality and potential he has.

In the end, we were bowled out for 129 while chasing 295. It wasn’t the result we wanted, but there was a great team effort throughout, and I hope everyone enjoyed the experience.

The series now stands at 3–2 in favour of MCC.

The annual fixture has now been led by Haroon Haq for the fifth consecutive year, continuing his commitment to providing young cricketers from Luton with the opportunity to showcase their talent and gain valuable experience against MCC.

“This was yet another exciting game. MCC came with a very strong side, and full credit to them—they played excellent cricket in all aspects of the game and deserved the win.

For Lutonian CC, this fixture is about much more than the result. It’s a fantastic opportunity for our young players to experience this occasion, test themselves against quality opposition, and continue their development.

It’s been an absolute pleasure leading this team for the fifth year in a row. I’m proud of the effort and commitment shown by everyone involved. We’ll regroup, work hard, and come back next year aiming to level the series at 3–3.”
