At the recent Annual General Meeting of the Southern Sports Partnership, the Executive Committee regrettably had to make the difficult decision to dissolve the Southern Sports Partnership due to funding.

Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council and Mid Ulster District Council continue to be committed to the work carried out by the Partnership going forward.

On Wednesday 18th May, the Southern Sports Partnership will host its Sports Awards at Craigavon Civic and Conference Centre to celebrate the sporting achievements of the young performers who have participated in the Southern Sports Academy over the past number of months.

Guest athlete for the evening will be Banbridge and Irish Hockey Star Eugene Magee. Recently, Magee helped the Ireland Mens Hockey team to qualify for the Rio Olympic Games. We feature a profile of Magee in the lead up to the Awards Evening.

Great experience for our netball squads competing in the Netball NI Youth Games today against the best U13 players across NI. Well done to all involved!

Busy weekend ahead for our netball and hockey squads. Our two netball squads will represent the Southern Region in the Netball NI Youth Games tomorrow in Lisburn. On Sunday, our hockey squads will compete in a blitz in Cookstown. Good luck to all our sports academy athletes!

This evening our ABC hockey squad completed their sports academy development squad sessions. Great progress has been made throughout! All athletes will have the chance to put their newly found skills to the test at the Sports Academy Blitz this weekend in Cookstown.
