Born in the 1988/89 season, Lurgan Town Boys FC was formed in order to provide football for all boys in the Lurgan area regardless of class, colour, creed or religion. With the support that has been given from the people of Lurgan, parents and countless sponsors, the club has firmly established itself as one of the leading junior clubs in the country.

Lurgan Town Football Club are seeking expressions of interest for the position of Under 23 Manager / Management Team ahead of the 2026/27 MUFL Reserve Championship season.

The club is looking for a passionate, enthusiastic coach to work within the club’s team structure, assisting with player development, supporting the First Team, and helping facilitate the transition from the Under 23 Team to First Team football. The role will also involve working closely with the Third Team and Under 19s management to integrate many of the club’s exciting young players into the Under 23 squad and ultimately the First Team.

Ideally, applicants will hold relevant coaching badges; however, for those who do not currently possess them, the club will provide a clear coaching and development pathway to support the journey towards acquiring the necessary qualifications.

This opportunity is ideal for anyone looking to gain valuable experience in a highly competitive league environment. The club is committed to providing support, development opportunities, and potential progression into the First Team management structure for the right candidates.

We caught up with new signing James Duddy, to get his thoughts on joining Lurgan Town.

"Coming off the back of a record season (for me personally), and after speaking with the management team and hearing their ambitions for the club, as well as the plans they have for me personally and the role they see me playing the decision was an easy one".

"This is a club moving in the right direction and I feel I have a huge role to play in the future of this club".

"The standards I've set for myself don't change. I'll be working harder than ever to improve, contribute to the team, and make this season another successful one".

Lurgan Town FC are delighted to announce the signing of James Duddy.

The highly sought-after centre forward, renowned for his clinical finishing and constant threat in and around the box, is a major coup for the club. Duddy enjoyed an outstanding season last year, netting an impressive 62 goals across all competitions. A natural goalscorer, he possesses the complete package: technical ability, intelligent movement, aerial presence, and the instinct to score all types of goals.

Manager Lee Dickson commented:
“I’m absolutely delighted to secure the signature of James Duddy. There is no doubt in my mind that he will be a major success for this football club. He has all the qualities needed to become one of the standout players in Mid Ulster and will pose a constant threat to every defence we face this season. This was a key position we wanted to strengthen, and to get it done so early is excellent. We’re all very excited to welcome him to the club.”

The club would like to extend its deepest sympathies to 1st Team coach Mark Po***ck and the entire Po***ck family on the passing of his mother, Irene.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Mark and his family at this difficult time. We hope they find strength in the love and support of those around them and comfort in the many cherished memories of Irene.

⚽ Lurgan Town FC Are Recruiting U7 Coaches (2020 Age Group)!

As we continue to grow, we are looking for enthusiastic and reliable volunteers to help coach our Under 7 (2020 age group) players.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a part in the development of our youngest footballers, helping them learn new skills, build confidence, make friends and most importantly, enjoy the game.

No previous coaching experience is necessary. The club will support successful applicants with coaching courses, safeguarding training and ongoing mentoring.

Whether you're a parent, former player or simply someone with a passion for football, we'd love to hear from you.
