⚫️⚪️ U8.5 Boys – Francie Hughes Memorial Blitz ⚪️⚫️

Our U8.5 boys had a fantastic day out in Coalisland yesterday as they took part in the Frances Hughes Memorial Blitz.

The boys enjoyed some great games against Dromore, Fianna Coalisland, Derrylaughan, Fr Rocks Cookstown and Ardboe.

There was some brilliant football on show, with the boys working hard, showing great teamwork and taking some excellent scores.

A great experience for the boys and another opportunity to develop their skills while playing against some excellent opposition.

Well done boys — another great day representing St Peter’s!

A huge thank you to Fianna Coalisland for hosting such a fantastic blitz and for the warm welcome.

Míle buíochas d’achan duine a ghlac páirt sa suirbhé a chuir an club amach ar na mallaibh. Bhí bhur mbarúlacha iontach tábhachtach agus d’úsáid muid iad leis an todhchaí a mhúnlú maidir le himeachtaí Gaeilge a bheas curtha ar fáil sa chlub.

Is léir go bhfuil tacaíocht nach beag againn agus tá muid ag dúil le himeachtaí spreagúla a chur ar fáil do ghach aoisghrúpa.

Tá muid faoi chomaoin agaibh uilig.

A huge *go raibh maith agaibh* to everyone who took the time to complete our recent Cultural Committee survey.

We were delighted by the response - including the very strong expressions of support for the language and cultural activities developed at St Peter’s over the last few years, together with lots of ideas and suggestions about what members would like to see next.

We listened - and now we’re putting those ideas into action.

Over the coming months, our Cultural Committee plans to host a varied programme of Irish language and cultural activities for adults, young people and families, including conversational Irish, traditional music and song, children’s activities, learning and tutoring opportunities, guest speakers and much more.

We’re also excited about plans for a special Gaeltacht-style weekend at St Peter’s, bringing language, music, culture and family activities together for an immersive weekend experience.

The accompanying posters provide details of the first activities in our developing programme, with further announcements to follow. Most importantly, this programme has been shaped by you - our members. Your feedback, ideas and encouragement have helped us take the next step in strengthening Irish language and culture within St Peter’s.

🏁🖤🤍 SPIRITED SECOND-HALF PERFORMANCE 🖤🤍🏁

Our U14 boys played their final game in the Division 4 League Cup, travelling away to take on Loughgilly Gaels.

Up against a very strong and physical Loughgilly side, our boys found the opening stages difficult. The home side were able to cut through at times, while we gave possession away a little too cheaply and struggled to get enough of the ball to build our own attacks.

But as the half progressed, the boys began to settle into the game, worked their way into better positions and got themselves on the scoreboard, finishing the opening half with 2-2.

After regrouping at half-time, the boys came out with renewed determination. 💪 They competed much better all over the pitch, showed greater intensity and began to reap the rewards on the scoreboard, eventually finishing the game with an impressive 5-5.

While Loughgilly ran out deserving winners and secured the League Cup, the biggest positive for our coaches was the huge improvement our boys showed from the last time the two sides met. 👏

It has been a really positive year for this group, with plenty of wins and some excellent performances along the way. They have continued to learn, develop and battle hard, even when coming up against some very strong amalgamated teams.

Well done, boys! 🖤🤍 You can be proud of the progress you’ve made this season. Just another couple of weeks to go before another great year wraps up.

Last Saturday, our U10 girls travelled to Ballinderry Shamrocks to take part in a great blitz alongside Ballymaguigan.

The girls performed extremely well throughout the day, showing plenty of skill, determination and teamwork against two very good sides. 👏🏐

It was a fantastic experience for the girls and a great opportunity to test themselves against different opposition and continue developing their game.

Well done girls — you represented St Peter’s brilliantly! 👏🖤🤍
