We are open to ages 8+ and welcome beginners, families and adults of all experience levels. Our classes focus on:

Happy Wednesday!! Its mid week, so what better way to finish the day than Karate?! We are open this evening, 7-8:15pm (and adults only 8:15-9:30pm), unit 1, High St Arcade, Lurgan. We can't wait to see you this eve. Come along, bring a friend, train hard, get the rewards.

Our Lineage – Respecting Those Who Came Before Us.

At Seikō-yū Lurgan Shotokan Karate Club, we are proud of our heritage.
While we are a new club, we never forget those who helped shape our karate journey.

Our roots trace back to Gichin Funakoshi, founder of Shotokan Karate, whose teachings continue to influence karate practitioners throughout the world today.

For over twenty years, my Chief Instructor was Sensei Masao Kawasoe, one of the most respected traditional JKA Shotokan instructors in the world. Known for his incredible technical ability and dedication to strong fundamentals, discipline, and authentic Shotokan Karate he has left a lasting impression on generations of karateka, including myself.

I have also been fortunate to learn from many outstanding instructors throughout my karate journey. While it would be impossible to name everyone, each has contributed something valuable to my understanding of karate. And over time there will be profiles on more of these amazing instructors.

As Kawasoe has just turned 81, we wanted to honour him and give respect to this master of shotokan karate.

Through his teachings and all the years of training with many incredible karateka, you can be sure of quality teaching at our dojo. We want to make karate available, attainable, affordable and give quality karate to all.

We honour the past, embrace the present, and prepare the future.

Thank you to those who were able to make it today! Great effort by all, and poor BOB got a great trial!
Sorry we had to change days, but hope to be back as normal THIS WEDNESDAY! As its 3rd of the month we have our normal class 7-8:15 and our adults only class (all grades) 8:15-9:15. All welcome at both!

*DOJO SPIRIT AWARD* Wednesdays award (presented today) went to Connie, as always, voted for by the leadership team and Connie won for 'being a good example to other students, giving her best, encouraging other students, always having a go and showing respect to all.' She got 'sincerity'...
All amazing qualities for anyone to work towards 👏 🙌 well done Connie.

Reminder: we are ON tomorrow, in the dojo, 10:00-11:15am. This is to make up for the closure that took place on Wednesday.
Remember there is only one hour on street parking so parents may have to move car, or please use the car park at screw fix and walk up moores lane, or the Lurgan Baptist carpark, which is free all day.

*CLASS CANCELLED* Rescheduled for Saturday 10:00am (this week only)

Sorry all- it is with heavy hearts that we as a team have made the really tough decision not to open tonight due to risk of protests and safety for all students. The students are number 1 and we want to protect them all, so for safety (including risk of on street parking and damage), we have made the decision to close the Dojo this eve! We are so annoyed by this and hope that this all passes soon.

Please join us (those who can!) on Saturday Morning- 10:00am and get the best start to your day- Karate! set yourself up for a great day! See you in the dojo Saturday, back to normal next week all being well.
