🚂 All Aboard at Lundin

Lundin Golf Club are delighted that the long-awaited St Andrews to Edinburgh rail service has finally been reinstated. The stop at Lundin Links will be well used, we are certain.

To commemorate the opening, ScotRail put on a steam train service which you can see rushing past our 18th green. Fortunately, our Manager and Secretary had the office windows closed!

On this special day, Lundie looks forward to many years of dedicated service..both on the rails and on the fairways. 😉

Happy St David’s Day!
The start of March always feels like the real turning point — the longer days are finally on their way.
By the 9th, sunset will be after 6pm, and it won’t dip earlier than that again until 20th October.
By the end of the month, sunset will be around 7:45pm, which should open up the chance for some proper evening golf.

As we wish Team GB well in the Olympic final of the Men’s Curling, it’s worth remembering that Lundin GC has its own Olympian.

Lundin member Warwick Smith represented Team GB in curling at both the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin.
• In 2002, Warwick played third, with the team finishing 7th overall.
• In 2006, he played second, and the team narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing 4th.
During the round robin stage, Warwick recorded the highest accuracy of any curler in the men’s competition.

Following the Turin Games, the team went on to represent Scotland and won the 2006 World Championship in Massachusetts, USA.

Warwick no longer Curls and puts most of his concentration into winning his Friday afternoon golf game with his pals at Lundie; which he finds as much of a challenge as the Olympics !
