NEWS FROM MY P/T DESIGN LECTURER ROLE..
• Infographics, diagrams, and mapping aren't just a passion; they've been a fundamental part of my part-time teaching and commercial work for a long time.

• So, I was thrilled when Helen Holmes, Head of Corporate and Digital Communications at Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS), approached my Year 2 Infographics students with an exciting pictogram design brief. Their goal was to create clear representations of facilities at each of HWFRS's stations as simplified graphical pictograms.
• Our talented design student, Sophie, saw her work chosen by HWFRS to be progressed beyond the module. Even better, Sophie also secured a fantastic summer work experience opportunity in the studio alongside Helen and our former student, Natalie May.
• This collaboration was a true success story, delivering a great outcome for our clients and invaluable real-world experience for Sophie too.

A SANDWICH WITH A VIEW
• A quick stop for (ok I'll grant you) an unremarkable-looking sandwich - but wow look at that view behind!
• Again taken during another new walking route test for a private client - this time out around idyllic Montgomery on the Welsh/English border - and in baking-hot heat!
• No tea in that flask - think more 'cold lucozade' - definitely the order of the day..🔥😊
• I'll be preparing a visual, noted route report for the clients next and we'll then hopefully get the 'ok' to start on the bespoke vector mapping, the line illustrations and writing of step by step directions and supporting materials too.

KINGTON > RUSHOCK HILL > BANK FM > MILL FM > KINGTON
• Do you ever have one of those days when you stumble across something quite special?
• Add together a lovely new circular walk from Kington (using both the Offa's D**e and Mortimer Trails) and then a pure chance drop in to what was the secret hang out of entertainment royalty and rock gods and you're about there.
• Check out Penrhos Court at Lyonshall nr Kington: Monty Python ledge Terry Jones built the first ever British Microbrewery there in the 70's, rock star Mike Oldfield used to play by the fire there for glasses of wine, Queen used the court to rehearse and develop a new song of theirs called Bohemian Rhapsody and it was also the occasional hang out of another little British band called Led Zeppelin.

AMAZING WHAT YOU SEE WITH A GROUP..
• I led a circular walk today with a group and spotted these amazing wicker sheep part way around in Aymestrey, North Herefordshire..
• The detail was amazing, they must have taken and age to create!

WE'VE UPDATED..
• "Evolution, not revolution" has been my guiding principle. The new look is similar to the original incarnation, but with some thoughtful updates.

• ID Evolution: the goal is to help to "point" people to walking or outdoor destinations and provide supporting documents and maps. The previous identity didn't quite capture that.

• Website Enhancements: The website has evolved, thanks to valuable feedback from its interim phase.

• Broader Services: I now offer a wider range of services compared to the previous (just guides) site, which focused solely on downloadable regional walks.

• Check it Out: Visit the revised site and share your thoughts or suggestions. I'd love to hear from you!
