We are a competitive club who represent the University of Nottingham at national competitions including BUCS Indoors and Outdoors.

We are both a competitive and recreational club who represent the University of Nottingham at a variety of archery competitions; from local to national, including BUCS. We take on novices each year (archers who haven't shot before coming here) and give them the opportunity to represent the University from the start! We run a beginners course at the start of the first term for people who have never

shot before and the course lasts 3 weeks. As well as taking on novices, we are also open to taking experienced archers; we classify experienced as people who have shot before for a club/school team or have completed a beginners course. This year (16/17) our experienced archers won the BUTTS Team Champs and took bronze in the Ladies Experienced Recurve at BUCS indoors. Our novices also brought home a horde of medals with gold in Gents Compound and silver in Gents Barebow at BUCS Outdoors: our Compound Team also took bronze. As well as BUCS, we are also part of the BUTTS league; a league of 8 teams within the Midlands area which compete against each other. This is a great opportunity for competition practice and to mix with the other teams! As well as competing, we also take part in a variety of socials throughout the year. These range from meals out to bowling as well as club nights, so there's a social for everyone!

💚💛 COMPETITION ROUNDUP 💛💚

As we inch towards the dreaded exam period, it feels like the right time to look back at some of the incredible achievements our archers got at the tail-end of 2025!

To begin with, we sent 9 of UoN's finest to compete at the local Emas tournament. The Green and gold proceeded to dominate the field, securing recurve team gold, recurve women's gold, and open compound gold.

Following from this, 7 of our archers bundled down to the indoor chamionships, with 4 of them reaching head to heads! This was an incredible achievement for all involved, with a standout performances from Eva Jessen, who reached 7th place in the country!

With BUCS fast approaching, we can't wait to see what our archers achieve next!

TIS' THE SEASON EVERYBODY 🎄🏹

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND, our January beginners course will be making its return at the start of next year. For those of you who missed out on the first time, this is a great opportunity to get involved!

🏹💚 NOVEMBER COMPETITION ROUNDUP 💛🏹

As the festive season comes into full force, it feels like a nice time to look back over what was quite a hectic month for our archers!

We saw 3 competitions take place in November, with the first of those being our Novice Open Tournament. This was a great opportunity for our novices to get some valuable competition experience before being plunged into the deep end a mere 24 hours later!

Our second competition of the month, taking place the day afterwards, was WONT! This is always one of the best competitions of the year and this year definitely didn't disappoint. We saw a small cohort of novices travel over to Warwick to get their first taste of a proper Uni comp. Many, many arrows were shot, medals were won, and an obligatory photo with Warwick's infamous dinosaurs was taken.

Last but definitely not least, our archers partook in the first TOUCAN leg of the year. This saw both novices and experienced alike take the extremely lengthy, days long pilgrimage to... Loughborough.
Our archers shot straight, with standout performances from Hannah Evans, Ewan Kennett, Nicola Harper, James Coward, Daniel Kennedy, and leja Voroblevaite who all took home gold in their respective categories!

With Bucs Qualifiers on the horizon, I'm sure all of our archers are raring and ready to bring home more gold for the green and gold! 💚💛

Hey all!

I know it's a bit of a late one, but here is our social calendar for the month! We've got our bar crawl on tonight and ice skating coming up in just over a week, so make sure to get your tickets for that!

Just as a general point for these coming forwards, any day with a little bow and arrow symbol, there is a session (with tuesdays being team only sessions)! This means that our next scheduled no play date (date where we'd normally have a session but for scheduling reasons can't) is the 29th! 🏹
