Yesterday was a very special and emotional day for our Masters team as they travelled to Blackpool for the annual Blackpool Masters Festival.
Before the games got underway, the team proudly revealed their brand-new shirts, but this wasn’t just a new kit. ❤️💚
Every shirt has been specially designed to carry Joe McDermott’s number 4, along with a message on the back in memory of Joe.
At the very same time in Bradford, Joe’s family were receiving their own shirt, making the moment even more special.
A shirt can be just a shirt, but yesterday these meant so much more. They were a way of carrying Joe with the team, remembering him, and making sure his number 4 continues to be part of the Green Army.
It was an incredibly emotional tribute, and one that we know meant a great deal to Joe’s family and everyone who knew him.
A huge well done and thank you to everyone who helped bring this special tribute together, and a massive thank you to RD Groundworks for sponsoring the shirts and helping make this possible.
Yesterday, the Masters didn’t just take Joe’s number onto the field, they took his memory with them. 💚❤️
