😬 An eventful weekend racing to say the least 🏁
Bike issues, forgetting to swap transponders, a few fast laps, more bike issues, bent another valve, engine stripped and fixed, went faster on the Ariel, big crash, Ariel displays, destroyed dad’s bike, my fit to ride form was lost, missed a race, finally ended the day with a few more laps in the sunshine.

Really sorry to Dad for wrecking the Ariel. Lucky I didn’t get hurt but gutted it’s done so much damage.

🏁📝 Round 1 & 2 Lydden Hill
What a brilliant weekend! After all the mechanical issues we had last year, and the test day not going well with the Ariel, I was really hoping to get some good riding on it.
And I really did!

We had brilliant weather and great racing all weekend. Both the Ariel and the Honda ran great. I missed three laps in the first Ariel race after I missed a gear change and stalled the bike. But no bike issues with the Ariel. I did cook my front brake on the Honda which was inserting riding the remainder of the race with only my rear brake. Changed the pads and fluid for Sunday and it was great again.

Huge thanks to Dad & Ian for all their hard work on the Ariel, helping me with jobs on the Honda, and coming to the track with me.

Round 3 & 4 at Cadwell Park is 10th & 11th May. 🏁

Exhaust valve stuck open on the Ariel and has hit the piston. Lucky not to have put a hole in it.
That explains the rattling sound and the loss of compression. Dad has another valve and thinks we can fix it 😁

TESTING REPORT 📝
👉🏻 ARIEL 500cc - It ran great up the paddock to the noise testing area. Passed the lest and as soon as the sticker was stuck on the front it went “rattle, rattle, poof” and that was it. Lost compression and it’s something we cannot fix at the track. Ariel’s day was done before it started 😭

👉🏻 HONDA CB500 - After a trip home Me and my brother got the CB out of winter hibination. Put some water in it, checked the oil and pumped the tyres up. 1.5 hours later we were back at the track. Ready for the afternoon sessions. The bike took the harsh wake up well. Three good sessions blasting around.

Not exactly what we wanted from the day but still got some riding in. Back to the bench with the Ariel 🧰

Great weekend racing at with .

Dad and Ian worked really hard to get the Ariel fixed and running again, and it paid off. We were all glad to get some finishes on it and we had some brilliant races on it battling in the wet with all the girder fork bikes at the front of the race.
Honda went well too so even though we got wet it was still great fun.

That’s it for racing this year. I’ll be back at BHRC next year! 🏁🏍️💨

(Late) Race Report from Anglesey:

Sadly once again trouble with Dad’s Ariel. Issues with the mag in practice which we fixed. Thought we were set for a great day and 3 laps later it went pop. Not the birthday gift I wanted to give Dad.

Still had a good weekend racing the Honda though. put me out in another class on the Honda so I still got my track time (thanks again for that 🤩).
Think I got a 4x 3rd places and a couple of good finishes out with the sports bikes.
